.... And again with the signing....
What exactly is the problem with giving Andersson a league minimum two-way contract to play in the AHL? It's not like they signed him to be the everyday 3C in the NHL.

I personally am not a fan of this player. What exactly is the problem with giving Andersson a league minimum two-way contract to play in the AHL? It's not like they signed him to be the everyday 3C in the NHL.
Good to know. Why?I personally am not a fan of this player.
Obviously it's nothing personal. Drafted almost 6 years ago and he has proven he isn't NHL material. Maybe he can help Laval, hopefully he embraces that challenge.Good to know. Why?
Just trying to get an appreciation of the player from fans who allegedly know him enough to have a cut and dry opinion about him...
I'm not really either as an NHLer beyond as an injury call-up, but his AHL track record has been very strong and we didn't really have any good vet 1C options for Laval to support all our winger prospects. All it really costs is Molson's cash.I personally am not a fan of this player.
He’s a good AHL player to have for the younger guys to play with. Don’t know what’s the problen with the signing?.... And again with the signing....

What about a late bloomer? That's always a possibility, no?Obviously it's nothing personal. Drafted almost 6 years ago and he has proven he isn't NHL material. Maybe he can help Laval, hopefully he embraces that challenge.
Gorton thinks it is worth a second look. I would be ecstatic if he became an NHL asset. What about a late bloomer? That's always a possibility, no?
Definitely not counting on it, but players at camp said that his good skill set is definitely still on display.
Sometimes, you get under a coach's skin and you never get the opportunities that might help you reach a certain level.
Also, it's always a question of consistency and immaturity might have played a role in terms maximum effort or not.
Some players, after coasting on talent, only to hit a wall and see their dream steadily slip away, decide to put in the effort and suddenly reach new heights (because they do have talent).
Todd Bertuzzi was the perfect example of this. Used to dominating at lower levels without much of an effort, he was meh to start with in the NHL,until the year 1999-2000 where he decided to start putting in the effort to go with the skill.
I'm not saying that Andersson will become the next Todd Bertuzzi, but, at 24, now, he might be like Bertuzzi who, at 25, became more mature and decided to put in a consistent effort.
It would definitely be a nice win for the Habs and, maybe, Andersson could be a cheap 4th line C with upside to replace on a 3rd line in case of injuries?
I think Gorton mostly wanted a good AHL vet in Laval considering all the rookies starting there this season and he was a known available commodity.Gorton thinks it is worth a second look. I would be ecstatic if he became an NHL asset.
