Fellas..,, Lian Bichsel has arvied, and if yer barn door is still standin’, it won’t be for long.

I’ve ALWAS been a big Bichsel guy—anyone who knows me knows this (don’t check, just take my word for it). 6’7, 250 lbs of pure Swiss chaose that even the Swiss Hockey Federation couldn’t handle, kicked him right out. And yeah, maybe he abandond his Texas Stars last year to go play for “"Frolunda"”—guess he needed a lil Swedish vaction to smash boards and eat meatballs. That’s just what big boys do.

You can call me out all you want, but I’ve been preachieng the Big Boy Decade and backieng Bichsel since day one (or close enough, whatever). He’s here, he’s massive, and yer doors don’t stand a chance.

Extremely jealous of Dallas with their ability to draft and develop. They're a top 3-5 team in this regard.

Looks like another solid addition to the defense corps for them with Bichsel

That is the main criteria to become a cup contender. Draft well, develop well and manage well your assets. This is also how Tampa Bay became a super power.

I'd easily say Tampa and Dallas are both in the top 3 of drafting and developing the last 10-15 years.

Another view of that hit on Schenn

He's also already pissing off opponents. Checked Dubois into the post last night. Threw someone down after the whistle, etc. He's gonna piss a lot of people off but he's fun as hell that's for sure

Does need to improve in a few areas (gets caught chasing in the D zone sometimes, little slow to make a decision on the breakout (or is he just super patient? Idk) but those should improve with experience.

Tampa has drafted like 5 NHLers in the last decade

Cirelli, M Joseph, Colton… Koepke, Foote, Perbix… Howden and Raddysh

They also didn't really have top 10 picks so it's more impressive IMO.
I more mean finding guys later in rounds and not hitting the obvious top tier players.

I'd add St. Louis to the list too, they did well later in 1st rounds and hitting on guys in 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds too.

He is promising for sure, unfortunately, the moron who coach Switzerland banned him till 2027 for not showing at the last WJC, which is just dumb when you have a guy with such a unique profile but dumbass will be dumbass I guess

Anyway, I wish him the best with Dallas, surely one of the best place for his development

Tampa has done a pretty decent job of adding players in the last decade (almost all in the first half of it, mind you), but I think they would be considered closer to the bottom than the top if their guys werent stepping into a lineup woth Kucherov, Point, Hedman, etc

My point is, TBs drafting and development has taken a clear step back in the past decade and especially the last 5 yrs

Ah, the guy everyone shit on because he was a "defensive defenseman".

Dallas is allergic to L's at the draft

"I got ya, Chubby", love that from Benn and it got a laugh out of Schenn too.

Also pretty sure at one point last night Tom Wilson had Lian lined up and ended up just bouncing off him.

Bichsel's a treat to watch, hopefully he's able to stick around but if Dumba's back soon we might not see Lian for much longer.....unless Dallas makes a bigger move. :dunno:

Does this mean he's ineligible for the 2026 Olympics? Would be a damn shame if he's withheld from even being considered.

Yep for both the Olympics and the WC at home the same year, which is just absurd

Thought he was a liability against the Blues the other night. Looks like that was one of his first games though.
