My cameraman cousin warmly reccomended the "Passion of Joan of Arc", as an "understated for the time, subtle, black-and-white drama of the highest level" and borderline masterpiece/must-see movie to the cinephile that I am.

Die Passion der Jeanne d'Arc (1928) ⭐ 8.1 | Biography, Drama, History

I watched it, and he was right to recommend it to me, now onto you.

What the filmakers managed to do with so little is pretty freaking good.

The actress that played Joan was especially mesmerizingly good, her expressions were very vivid and on-point (woman is a beast of an actress).

Anyways, it might be worth a watch for those interested in the History of Cinema, or those who just like good acting.
There are a bunch of films on Joan of Arc. Found the 1962 film on her trial by Robert Bresson well done, based on the actual transcripts: Procès de Jeanne d'Arc.

Started watching Barry. Had heard/read little about the show, but when I passed it on stream last night, I read the synopsis and it sounded like a nice set-up to start with. Bill Hader plays a hired killer who finds new meaning in life by joining a theater class. I like it so far. It also helps I'm getting a major crush on Sarah Goldberg. She's like an even cuter Naomi Watts, with more spunk.

just watched Adolescence on Netflix this weekend. Very Intense, Long Uncut shots was a new directing style/take that made the story more real. Acting was phenomenal. Overall great 4 episodes mini series. 100% recommend

Sarah Goldberg does a tremendous job. It is an all time top series as far as I’m concerned
