OT: Let's talk about Movies and TV Shows, Part XXX (...how can this possibly go wrong)

You cant count me out in some African or Asian cities. I'm not a great driver...when drivers make their own rules.

To me, Athens isn't crazy, just conjested and the lane spliters make it worse. No daydreaming or your going to lose a mirror or a fender. No comparison to Canadian urban driving. In the small Greek towns, downright tame and other then narrow streets, Greeks follow the rules...most of the time.
Guess we wont see you anytime soon then in Jakarta and parts unknown in India then right? absolutely chaotic and in some areas in Africa it is literally a zoo!:eek2:

I leave driving in Athens to my Athenian residing friends as they know the ways better, and when going to bouzouki clubs they'll tell me pull in the mirror pull in the mirror!!!! as you know the streets are so narrow you see a lot of mirrors hanging on parked cars that didn't pull in their mirrors when they parked.:dunce:

Been a while and it was on, so why not watch it again, still impactful. The conversations I had with some that were there still resonates to this day about how terrifying it was for them.

I hated Open Water personally. This movie is soo old that i remember renting it on dvd. The production value was so bad that after 10 minutes i actually stopped the movie to check if someone had not replaced the dvd with a porn movie cause the production value was about on par with a porn movie. Stopped the movie halfway thru it.

That lack of production value is kind of the point?

That is why it's effective, it's basically put a camera on two people getting eaten. Cinema vérité. Similar to the Blair Witch Project.

Never heard of it but punched it up and looks like something worthwhile being based on true events, thanks!:thumbu:
You are welcome!

That’s a good one. Band of brothers is also a must see.

I watched Fury this weekend and will probably watch Inglorious Bastards this week.

I did not like Fury, too much sniveling by the tank crew and whining. Brad Pitt was too pretty to be a tank commander lol.

IB was great, loved the first 15 minutes with the farmer interrogation.. just the sounds alone were wonderful, not sure why it stood out for me. The sound of the pipe, the milk.. the floorboards.. what a cinematic masterpiece.

We have the same taste in hockey players, and movies

That or a tv series remake 🫠
No they are movies l already got the script for both movies.

Forest Gump 2 : Forest and Jenny are dead and their gen Z son is wasting all is inheritance on video games and Pokémon cards doing nothing all day long but playing Fortnite. At the end of the movie he eventually runs out of cash and end up being an homeless man.

Shawshank Redemption 2 : After the US invaded Mexico and occupied it the US police finds Red and Andy on a beach. They are sent to an El Salvador prison where they can't escape for the rest of their lives. They eventually die of forced hard labor.

If you guys like body horror and don't mind reading subtitles (it's in Norwegian) I highly recommend The Ugly Stepsister, one of the best movies of 2025 so far imo,

It's streaming on Shudder right now and you can get a free 30-day trial through Prime or Apple TV+.

Just started following this movie reviewer. I’m going to try a few of his recs to see if he’s on the ball:
