OT: Let's raise money for the Garden of Dreams! ($585 raised of $1000 target)

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I'll donate $10 for every goal we win by tonight, $20 for every goal Hagelin scores, and $100 if we get a shutout.
 
I'm just a lurker, but this seems like a good cause. Put me down for $10 for every goal Zuccarello scores in the remaining regular season games + $5 for every assist, up to a maximum of $100.

If he somehow manages to score a hatty, I'll donate a $100 "Sukarillo plos" Garden Dream Note instead

EDM: 2 goals, 1 assist = $25
VAN: 1 assist = $5
COL: 1 assist = $5
OTT: 2 goals = $20
CAR: 1 assist = $5

I think the conditions make it more fun! But I think we can have more fun with it than just making playoff conditions. For example I'm thinking of doing:

5 dollars for every Rangers win this season
5 dollars for every MSL goal this season
30 dollars if Hank reaches 30 wins
22 dollars if Brian Boyle is the 1st star in any game (might as well make it 22,000 :sarcasm:)

Anyone else have some creative ideas?

5 Rangers wins - $25
0 MSL goals - :(

I even mentioned to her how disappointed that I was in the Garden of Dreams being a huge Ranger fan. She immediately said that she worked closely with the Garden of Dreams and would be more than happy to contact them to try to help me out. Imagine that. She was going to forego my contribution to help me contribute to the Garden of Dreams because she knew that's what I really wanted. Well it didn't make any difference because she couldn't get anyone from the Garden of Dreams to contact me either so I stuck with Make a Wish. So the Garden of Dreams lost out on a 6 figure donation because they wouldn't make any effort at all.

Hadn't seen this until now...

My wife works in non-profit and a couple years back, she was looking to move into another organization in the city. GoD seemed like a great place to her considering what we saw while watching Rangers games. I reached out to a buddy of mine who works for the Knicks to find out more about it, what sort of staff they have, if he had any contacts, etc. He basically told me that they don't have their own staff at all...everyone else who works these events are MSG employees in other areas: operations, marketing, PR, etc. So the reason no one is getting back to you is because there is no one to get back to you.

That doesn't excuse anything, they should have people dedicated to reaching back out, especially when people want to make contributions...just wanted to paint the picture as I had a very different idea of what the org was before I spoke to my friend.

i am probably going to donate 100 so that i can get my friend's name displayed on the big screen for the sabres game. i'll update the thread once i do so.

Cool, just taking the piss. You should make up some weird name for your friend, it's your dime.
 
lol, that would have been funny. i did manage to get my forum name in there (free advertising). my friend and i run the forum together so it's something along the lines of, "welcome to the united states. happy birthday from us at forum name"

Just thought I'd bump this to remind those of you who made conditional pledges to donate. Also hoping we can get a few more pledges to reach the target before this series end.
