Regarding the content of the OP, trust me, I heard John Ferguson Jr. say "can't confirm or deny" or something very close to that many times. Sorry, I didn't record any of those interviews. Probably no one else did either because no sane person would want to suffer through the discomfort of hearing those interviews again. The guy was the most nervous, least slick hockey management guy I've ever heard in my life. As a fan, I should have been furious about him being the GM but I couldn't help feeling bad for him in those interviews more than anything.

As Jeff O'Neill, he seems to have a mean streak. What's the point of picking at this wound? Also there's a mean mockery to the GOAT (Greatest of all time) nickname he gave Fred Gauthier.

O'Neill has his moments, but that "Yes Guy" schtick is Jim Tatti's.

O Dog is a moron and huge Leaf homer. I’m surprised he doesn’t just wear a Leaf jersey every show. Too many of those Leaf homers in the media, but they do it either b/c of being a homer or just clicks from Leaf fans. He’s terrible....

O'Neill did not make up that nickname.

O'Neil is awesome, and along with Ray are probably my favorite personalities in the game. O-Dog occasionally provides good insight about life as an NHLer, but most of the time is just hilarious.

Yes, he's a Leafs fan, yes, he occasionally takes dumb stances. But, in general he is pretty willing to make fun of himself. I've also heard he's great behind the scenes at TSN. Has a McDonalds on speed dial near the studio, and constantly orders everyone food. He can be a bit of a prick on the air, but that's his personality and it works.

The Goat nickname isn't really mocking him. Also, most of the clowning of Goat seems to be due to his attire by fellow Marlies.

The guy grew up a massive Leaf fan and played for the Leafs and talks about the Leafs every single day. I love the guy and I'm not sure where all the hate is coming from in the Maple Leaf forum

While talking about O'Dog, does any one notice that he treats everyone on the show with a different scale?

For example, he almost always cuts off Noodles mid-conversation to say something else completely irrelevant, but he'll let Ray completely finish his thoughts even if he does take awhile doing so. Part of that is probably cause Ray only has 30 mins each show, but the demeanor is kind of apparent too. With Hayes, he treats him like his equal - enough respect to let him direct the show but also interrupting and taking over at times.

I really like John Shannon.

But I find Bob so dull and boring, and lately, uninformed.

I'm not sure who McCown's target audience is. I'm not sure who that show is meant for. It seems to drab and dry for the sports fan in this city.

I'm surprised to hear that O'Dog has a problem with Ferguson Jr. They have one thing in common, they contributed absolutely nothing as employees of the Leafs. O'Dog...should have been his name as Leafs. Seems equally disinterested in his talking head role at TSN.
Not criticizing just O'Neill and others in Leaf/ NHL talk radio in Toronto, but many should be released. After years of saying nothing insightful, can't TSN and Sportsnet find better talking heads? Heck most contributors on HFBoards would have more insightful thought.

O Dog is awesome and I love his yes guy and his impressions of the dick wad we have in charge of the NHL.

They are hockey people kicking ass in a time slot that is meant for sports radio.

I love the interactions between them and OD is actually a very knowledgeable hockey man who broke all the rules and can speak from experience.

I wish I had the time to help but what really surprises me is that there are peopl who actually don't like the O-Dog. The guy is hilarious. Overdrive has destroyed bob McCowen in my opinion.

Why wouldn't you? He's hilarious and candid.

Overdrive is one of the best sports radio shows there is. But it being pro-leaf, won't surprise me to see it get a lot of hate in here.

Overdrive is the best show on talk radio and Odog is a big reason imo. The guy is hilarious.

He has a passion for the Leafs and isn't afraid to say it. It's nice hearing and we'd be lucky to have more players speak out like this and want to join their hometown team now that we're hopefully heading towards something special.
