Its cause of the managing. They have had two guys now who have zero clue how to manage a bullpen in October, they think its just another game in May. The decision to use Reyes ranks right up there with Matheny using Wacha in Game 5 of 2014 NLCS. It is absolute stupidity, Reyes has been a joke since the ASG and has major control issues. He's been serving up meatballs since his 6 run meltdown vs the Cubs. Yet Shildt does not care because hes one of "his guys", the same way Matheny rode Allen Craig and Trevor Rosenthal into the ground.

The Cards won't ever win with Shildt as their manager, this should have been Oquendo's team to manage for a decade now instead of going with 2 clowns in Matheny and Shildt. If the Cards had TLR for the past 10 years, they would have won in 12-13 too.

Yea, that's why I brought up Jeff Albert - O'Neill and Arenado both looked like ass. Man on second with two outs in the top of the ninth and all I kept saying was base hit up the middle and we win here Tyler......yet he still swings for the fences and is way behind a middle/middle fastball. Overall Bader, Edman, and Goldschmidt did their jobs remarkably well - they set the table with good ABs and getting on base. 3-4-5 went a combined 1 for 13 and the one hit was Carlson's oopsie-daisy 2 strike checkswing single. We didn't have a single extra base hit the whole game. I get that the Dodgers pitching staff is good, but that's the type of pitching you see in the playoffs no matter what the year. If you can't hit it, you can't win, and we've proven in two straight years that we can't hit it.

It is but you know what? Dodgers wernt hitting the ball any better. It was a pitching matchup. That is what happens in October. A bunch of our guys were taking really good ABs last night but Arenado, Molina, Oneill and Sosa had some really subpar ones.

Reyes gave up a bomb to a guy who was like 7 for his last 80 Abs. That would be like Matt Carpenter hitting a bomb off the Dodgers last night. Chris Taylor since Aug. 27: 8 for 72 .111 AVG .195 OBP .208 SLUG .403 OPS 30 strikeouts, 8 hits

Reyes cost them that game because of Shildt's idiotic decision to bring him into a tied game late. I would have picked Lester over him for a roster spot in that game because you could always use another lefty, he has big game exp and he hasn't pitched like a total slob since July like Reyes has.

If Reyes didn't blow chunks and blow so many saves, we could have won the freaking division even with how bad they played in May and June.

Now you have to wonder if the guy will recover from it moving into 2022. All around its just a stupid decision when you had Flaherty and Hudson down there who are clearly better options.

Martinez has been utter garbage for awhile now. Removing him and Carpenter should open up so much money. Just need to use that money for the bullpin, maybe one more starter, a backup catcher, and MAYBE an upgrade at SS.

They need to address SS for sure. Dejong is spent and Sosa is not a legit longterm option. Then they need to spend the rest on pitching and a bat for the bench.
