If the Cubs runner would have hustled to 2nd and stopped on the base and then only left the base after he was called out, THEN what they decided would have made sense.
But that was not what happened, the Cubs runner jogged to 2nd and overran it BEFORE the out call was made, because he also was confused and didn't know what was going on.

that guys voice in that video is awful

You really don't have to denigrate people on a public forum for something like that. It makes this forum an unwelcoming place. You can have the thought and then realize it's better to keep it to yourself.

Ok, remind me to just slap myself in the face the next time I'm negative about the Cardinals. This organization is the definition of "trust the process", even when it's hard, just trust the process. And next year we could add Gorman to the mix to at a minimum replace Carp and at best give a significant boost to the lineup.

I recall a short conversation in this thread from a season or two ago regarding Cardinals leadership and the concept "vision" etc.

I've been hard on Mo, Girsch and Schildt and have been calling for their heads for a while now, however I remember also cutting them a teensy bit of slack in the aforementioned conversation.

I'm loving the run, but not convinced this is sustainable. I'll need to see how the offseason goes.

Go Cards!!

Kinda want to see if the Cards are going to try to go after Story for SS or stick with Sosa/DeJong. Also hoping they opt out of Matt Carp this offseason.

There are a bunch of SS out there, I'd rather go with Sosa/Edman/Gorman/DeJong for the middle infield slots, and allocate a lot of money on pitching. We need that to be reliable from start to finish and not bank on patching it up as the season goes. See if Scherzer wants to finish his career back home.

im all for giving people rest for the playoffs, but that lineup tonight was pretty atrocious.

Dejong, Carpenter AND Knizer? Bader hitting 5th?

Woof.

Both teams played safe. Sosa is banged up, and Yadi has a Minor shoulder injury. Not sure what you want them to do about playing DeJong and Knizner. Team played fine defensively. Cards need to be healthy for the Wild Card game.

A team with Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt on it, and yet it’s Tyler O’Neill that’s the true star of the team.

I had always had hope that he would turn into a star and he might be on his way to that.

Me too. Took him a few seasons to get it together. Sucked to lose Marco Gonzalez, but he was coming off TJ surgery. He's become a pretty good starter in the Majors, but I'm thrilled with O'Neill's progress.

Tyler O'Neill might need back surgery after carrying this team tonight.

Nahhhh.....he's a bodybuilder, like his dad.
