Now compare the above strategy to someone who made it by being dividend stock heavy. He generates over $400K in dividends per year:

Vanguard makes 1.4 billions a year in dividends just with Apple.
f***ing crazy!

I would be happy with 10K a year in dividends.

i have investments too, but there's something weird about generating 8k/month from stocks you already own.

maybe passive income should be illegal, idk

I like a mix of both strategies (growth plus dividends), with more dividends the closer you get to retirement.

We can achieve a similar high dividend return using Canadian funds (by including covered call ETFs). Not a fan of US dividend ETFs as I would have to buy them in an RRSP account. I’d much rather fully use up my TFSA unused allocation.

Imagine $400K a year in dividends. Sick.
