He has the physical development curve of a power forward. That type of player doesn’t start being NHL ready physically until 2-3 years have passed (we are at 1-1/2). Literally nobody predicted that he was going to be a star player this year.

And no, nothing above says that I’m saying he’s a power forward, so should be playing more physically, aggressively, and/or mixing it up. Reading comprehension asked for preemptively.

Agreed but I think a lot were hoping, reasonably, for more of an impact than we’ve seen. I think he just needs a reset, the lack of production has gotten to his head a bit IMO.

I think that he’s looked better with Zegras and is getting chances, so I’d give him some time to see if he can get that goal. Hopefully the 4 nations nonsense may help him reset as well.

I think the 4 Nations could be great for Leo. I'm excited to see him on a good team and hopefully it will boost his confidence.

I think a small swap in the lineup might help Leo a bit. Swap Killorn and Fabbri (Fabbri isn't as good but he's faster which helps Leo) or move Fabbri to the 4th line and call up Colangelo (showed chemistry in limited time). Colangelo will probably take his spot after the deadline anyways. Killorn may fit better with Mac.

Athletes have weird mindsets. Just getting to play with some great players could do it, but if he can just experience a little bit of success, especially on that stage, it could do wonders for his ability to execute when he gets back to the Ducks.

That scapegoat has left the barn. You can blame Leo's progress on Cronin, but Killorn isn't holding him up.

I said something similar in the coaching thread but I honestly feel like Verbeek and Cronin simply don't care about Leo's offense this season. I think Pat's plan is something like

Year 1: Get comfortable with NHL (the conditioning plan)
Year 2: Get better at defending in the NHL (Cronin teaching habits, being stapled to Killorn, a "cerebral" vet)
Year 3: Get better at scoring goals in the NHL
Year 4: Dominate the NHL

I think Killorn has been playing well recently, but I’m not convinced that stylistically he’s a good match for Carlsson.
