Posted this in the draft GDT as well...

Pronman had him at #55:

Wheeler had him at #53:

Wheeler also mentioned him as a possibility to NJ in his mock draft:

Reads like a conservative pick. We know what we are getting and it's likely to be solid. Does not seem - from the admittedly sketchy reporting and analysis - like this is a gamble on a guy like Bratt with unknown upside when we drafted him. But that was a later in the draft pick. Rather here "what we see is going to be what we get."

This pick makes sense. We know what we have as far as most of our top 6 for the next like 4-5 years at worst so we need to fill out the bottom as well. Safe pick doesn't mean bad pick in the position we are at.

He's anywhere from 6 ft to 6'1" now.
Idek what that means - he grew today? Lol hes listed on most sites at 5'11"

But even if he is 6'1" - why are we allergic to size in the draft? If the goal of the pick was to be safe and go for depth, you can easily find a decemt defender with limited offense but who's 6'3-4 and 225 lol

I don’t view this as a low upside pick at the end of the second round.

The Devils took a guy with good production who has physical questions on if that production will continue as he moves higher.

If it was a 5’9” guy who was a good skater with this production and physical questions about whether that production could continue as they move higher people wouldn’t have called it conservative.

I also think playing overseas impacts that. If this guy has had the equivalent production in the WHL we could more easily process that and see the good production and hope it continues.

Solid pick. Smart, Defensive minded winger that also has great production across all levels and internationally. Not the loudest tools but hard to bet against a guy as effective on the ice as he has been despite playing in Liga and WJC.

Your issue was sub 6 ft. He's not sub 6 ft. Now it's sub 6'3"? Pick something lol.
Well for one Elite is the only site listing him at 6'1", but since nitpicking is on the menu....

Ill trust IIHF over a fan-driven website. Hes 6' 184

Second - I stated from the very beginning were allergic to 'drafting size' in forwards and as far back as Nate Bastian being our last size-pick in the top-4 rounds.

Whether thats 5'11 or 6' doesnt matter, he isnt big - nobody would call Nico Hischier or Alex Holtz big either

I get youre enjoying this back and forth but I dont have time to play a war of words over an inch
