Prospect Info: Lenni Hämeenaho (#58 Pick - 2nd Round - 2023 Draft)

Had the primary assist to the lone goal by Finland (from the start of the vid below) in the 1-2-loss. Played on the 3rd line with Oiva Keskinen & Petteri Puhakka, was on the 1st PP unit on their one try, & on the ice at the end when trying to tie the game with the EN.

A somewhat messy practice game overall, with Lenni also having his good and bad moments, but overall seemed like a fine first men's national team game.

Next game in 17h25min, and with the extra guys on the roster we'll see if he'll play again.

Played with his former Ässät linemates today in the 2-0 win. Line took a little bit to get going, had some good chances especially in the 2nd (highlight right at the start of it with a takeaway from Lenni leading to a breakaway, but couldn’t slide the puck in), & was on the PP-unit that scored the 2-0 goal a bit after Lenni had a chance as the bumper in the middle of the PK square:

Next Finland practice games on the 24th & 25th, and then there’s the Euro Hockey Tour-tournament before the World Championships. With some Finns coming from NA we’ll see how things go.

Edit. Lenni will stay on the squad for next week. Both games 6:30 PM local time.

Sweden? ahl?

Two games against Sweden. Missed some of the first one, but liked what I saw from Lenni on the 2nd game, nice amount of chances with all the other work including a sequence with a nice amount of good footwork to get the puck out of the defensive zone without a stick. No points in the wins with his 16 minutes in each game, but will continue (with his two former linemates) to the EHT-tournament next week just before the WC.

Thu vs CZE 7PM, Sat vs SUI 1PM, & Sun vs SWE 1PM (Finnish time)

Lenni with his first goal playing with Eeli Tolvanen and ex-linemate Järvinen on the 2nd line. In short thought the line did well in a game that was more difficult (2-4 loss) for Finland overall

Was also screening goalie Karel Vejmelka on the other goal from 4:07 on, and overall has definitely been spending quite a bit more time near the net.

Yeah, didn't have too many shifts after the collision with the skates with maybe some knee on knee contact yesterday. Fortunately looked very ok on the ice today.

(Other than that not much to talk about Lenni on that one, and even less for the team in that 2-8 loss)

Today with a solid 1st, not much in the 2nd, but then a good 3rd with his line (with Juuso Pärssinen both games) and had three great 5on5-chances from where Lenni scored a goal & hit a post. Was out there involved creating quite a few chances in the end on the PP & EN.

With what he was able to show in this tough tournament for Finland feeling pretty good with his chances on making the team. Announcement about that later today or tomorrow.

When it comes to the WC looks to be continuing with Juuso Pärssinen, and then Patrik Puistola who was also on that line in the EHT-game vs SUI. A trio of the three youngest players on the roster, Lenni at 20 with the two 24 yos.

Also on the 2nd PP unit with some of the other right-handed guys. More doubts on that one, but we'll see...

Schedule:
9th vs Austria (5:20PM Finnish time)
11th vs France (9:20PM)
12th vs Sweden (9:20PM)
15th vs Slovenia (5:20PM)
17th vs Latvia (1:20PM)
19th vs Canada (9:20PM)
20th vs Slovakia (5:20PM)
