What would your legit all-star lineups be (for both conferences)? Actual lineups, no Zemgus Girgensons here, and don't be biased.

Mine:
Eastern Conference
R. Nash S.Crosby J.Voracek
H. Zetterberg S. Stamkos P. Kessel
M. Pacioretty C. Giroux P. Hornqvist
N. Foligno E. Malkin A. Ovechkin

P.K. Subban E. Karlsson
J. Carlson K. Letang
D. Hamilton N. Kronwall

Western Conference
J. Benn T. Seguin V. Tarasenko
P. Marleau F. Forsberg P. Kane
J. Gaudreau R. Getzlaf C. Perry
A. Ladd L. Couture M. Hossa

M. Giordano T.J. Brodie
B. Burns K. Shattenkirk
S. Vatanen D. Keith

So... Weber doesn't make it? How does that even begin to make sense?

Also, Forsberg is a winger. I have no idea why he is still listed as a center.

Tanner Glass- Sidney Crosby-Jakub Voracek
Tyler Johnson- Steven Stamkos- Rick Nash
Patrik Hornqvist- Evgeni Malkin- Claude Giroux
Alex Ovechkin- John Tavares- Ryan Johansen

Subban- Karlsson
Letang- Kronwall
Hedman-Mcdonaugh

Howard
Lundqvist

Tarasenko-Seguin- John Scott
Benn- Getzlaf- Pat Kane
Perry- Couture-Toews
D.Sedin- H. Sedin-Forsberg

Giordano-Pietrangelo
Weber- Josi
Doughty- Keith

Rinne
Quick

Parise should be every list. PPG pretty much and there are maybe a couple better two-way wings out there. He is a legit allstar and gets no love on HF

Phaneuf has decent point totals and has the team's highest +/- which is a +14 on a defense that averages a +2. Subban has a worse plus minus than five of his defenseman teammates and only four more points. How has Subban been better? cause he's paid 9 million a year?

Phaneuf has 1 goal... Only "4 more points" and 6 more goals on a 30 game sample, for a dman, its a lot. Phaneuf is 8th on his team scoring, Subban is 3rd.

Phaneuf was known for scoring... he doesnt anymore.

If I have to explain you how Subban is superior than Phaneuf this season (or at anytime) I don't think we could ever have an intelligent argument...

+/- is a **** stats... Pacioretty is +12 on a even team. Desharnais is following at +6 with Emelin at +6 too..

Perhaps our worst defensive players out of the team.

Markov is 0 and Subban -1... for a Even team, thats what you think you will get for your players that play the most.

Goal, assist; the puck got put in the net and he had a part in that happening. Besides, the point here isn't even about scoring. Phaneuf has been a good defenseman for the Leafs this year. +/- is a misunderstood stat, not a bad one. When the proper relativity is applied to it, it can be a good measure. Pacioretty is a great player but there's just better choices.

You're right in saying Subban is only -1 on an even team. But Phaneuf is pretty nicely above his team's average and the points aren't that far off.

Just my guesses so far sure i missed some

It should be pointed out that the three goalies listed each play one period, so it's not a A-B-C type of role.

Take Benn off the list. He's sucked this year.

I'm mostly bitter, and he probably is still the best LW in hockey, but damn, the Stars are terribad this year,

I think I got all 15 teams here...I made it somewhat realistic as I expect Subban, Pacioretty and Price to be voted in by fans. And I added Markov as a sign of respect for everything that he's done for the game, he deserves this more than anyone (as much as Jagr)

Eastern Conference
Pacioretty - Crosby - Stamkos
Zetterberg - Malkin - Kessel
Nash - Giroux - Voracek
Johansen - Plekanec - Ovechkin
Jagr - Tavares

Subban - Karlsson
Carlson - Markov
Hamilton - Kronwall
Hedman

Price
Lundqvist

I want to see east worst vs west worst, that would be more entertaining than an all-star game

Candidates - Nick Holden, Teddy Purcell, Luke Schenn, Cody Hodgson, Andre Benoit, RJ Umberger, Jan Hejda, Tom Sestito, Zac Rinaldo, Tanner Glass, Brandon McMillan, Deryk Engelland, Jared Boll, Andrew Ference, Jordan Eberle (come at me please), Dan Cleary, Cody McCormick, Adam Burish, Shawn Thornton, TJ Galiardi, Zach Sill, Mike Weber, Andrew Desjardins, John Scott, Brad Stuart, Ben Scrivens, James Reimer, Mike Smith, Viktor Fasth, Ray Emery and Chad Johnson

FIVE Montreal players? The aim of this thread is to not be biased and ignore the fan voting process.

Didn't even realize I added that many...I'd remove Plekanec in that case, replace him with Hornqvist or Bergeron if he picks it up.

Price, Subban and Pacioretty deserve it (regardless of fan voting) due to skill and Markov and Jagr deserve it for the long and successful careers they've had despite uncontrollable obstacles (injuries or having to bail to go play in the KHL)

Putting Pacioretty and Subban on the top lines is bad enough, but adding those two on top of it all? :help:

This is a joke right? I mean where is Phil Kessel? Tanner Glass and Tyler Johnson both make it over him? Glass in the all star game in the first place? So many WTF's going through my head right now

John Scott is in the west line-up.

So far, I think this is the most accurate.

Those are awful teams. I have no idea how the 3 best defensemen in the league (Weber, Suter or Hedman) get left off. And there are much better guys than Hornqvist, Ladd, Gaudreau and Hossa. But the best part is how Foligno is there but not Johansen.

JVR has been terrible this year. Don't let his scoring totals fool you.

If another Leaf deserves to be an all star, it's Phaneuf or Kadri. They've been our two best players this season.
