I currently own NHL 15 for Xbox 360, I'm trying to decide whether I should buy Legacy Edition for Xbox 360 or upgrade to a next gen console and buy NHL 16 with it.

I'm sort of leaning towards Legacy (although it is very pricey) because I can't quite afford a next gen console and also because I'm worried NHL 16 won't be any better than 15.

Thoughts? Opinions?

16 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 15

Do not get legacy. If you can't afford X1, then stay with 15. If anything, get Legacy during Black Friday or Xmas.. definitely not full price.

I'm guessing Legacy is basically a slightly patched roster update of NHL 15 (which was a slightly patched roster update of 14). Not worth $80.

There were differences in game play between NHL 14 and 15, but they weren't 90 CAD after tax differences. There was also a lot of things where they'd take a step forward in one spot, and take a step back else where. (An example, I don't think the crazy goalie interference was in the last game).

I understand why they charge what they do, because all the hardcores will buy it on day/week 1, and then they can gradually lower the price to capture others.

The only value in Legacy is that the userbase being schmucks and moving over gives it value. If you play any of the online modes regularly aside from Online VS, you pretty much have to buy Legacy to access enough opponents as much less people remain on the older games.

If you can afford a next gen console now, I wouldn't waste 80+tax on Legacy. Depending on where you live, what console you buy, deals, etc, that's like 1/4th the cost of the console for an out dated game that has been re-released with very slightly upgrades three times already.
