Least excitement for start of a season?

If Scheifele, Dillon and Schmidt were traded, then I would be excited. And Hellebuyck either traded or extended.

Biggest downer though was the Heinola injury. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I don’t know whether to cheer for the tank or for wins. This team isn’t good enough for the Cup. And the 2024 draft doesn’t sound as talented as 2023.

Just… bleh.

I plan on keeping all excitement on hold until the first goals from all 4 lines. I may need a C-Pap until then..
One small advantage to looking like a bubble team is that other teams often take you for granted. It may take a couple of weeks/months for vets and new guys to work out multiple line combinations.
I hope Bones keeps rolling the dice on that. So you can just call me Eyore for now.

I was super excited for the off season thinking about returns for Scheifle and Helly ... now not so much. This team as built will never win a cup. Love my Jets but we are years away I feel .
I was hoping for and prepared for a youth movement / rebuild. I wanted a blockbuster on draft day so they could land a top 10 pick.

Seeing Heinola impressing added a bit of hope for the season but that has been dampened somewhat. I dont want to spend the season wondering when / if Hellebucyk / Scheifele / Dillon / DeMelo / Niedereiter are signed or traded.

I think they can battle for a wildcard but little chance of getting past the 1st round vs Edmonton or Vegas or Colorado.

I am so excited.

More forward depth than any 2.0 besides the 17-18 team, maybe ever.

A defensive scheme that is sensible, and that our d corps already showed last year that it can perform very well under.

Our 2 best players in the last year of their contracts, trying to get big paydays.

Young guys like Perfetti, Heinola, Samberg, Vilardi and even Kupari to follow and watch their progression.

So much to be excited for!

Very much agree. I'm really looking forward to seeing Cole's continued transition to C. I'm intrigued by Vilardi and Kupari.

I think we have more depth and if coached properly will give any team a handful.

I'm actually as or more enthusiastic about the team quality / interest than most Jets 2.0 seasons (other than maybe 2016/17 to 2018/19).

I think this is a strong and interesting roster. If it performs to potential, it's probably the 2nd or 3rd best roster.

I have my reservations about Bowness, but lots of quality and depth on this team (at least, on paper).

I have no idea how anyone could be excited about watching a tanking team. Sure, you can spend several months poring over the standings hoping for losses and reading draft previews, but that's not the same as being an active hockey fan, iny view.

I thought they would squeak in last year and I thought they would have ran it back without Dubois plus less than what we got in return....

I think the Jets might take a few games to get going but I think once they do, they are gonna shock some folks. The depth is there... I don't like kc with 55 but.... the depth is there.

I'm excited for sure. More excited about this group than I was last years group. I predict top 3 central

I was getting excited. The lack-lustre pre-season culminating with the injury to Heinola tamped it down pretty hard.

But pre-season play doesn't mean much. We can look forward to the arrival of Heinola in January sometime. So it is not all bad.

Right now I'm on the fence. I'm hoping for a good start, prepared for a lottery pick.

imo this is one of the most unpredictable seasons. I have no idea if this is a playoff bubble team, a divisional contender or a dud.

Therefore I wouldnt necessarily say im excited so much as I am incredibly curious/anxious.

Nonetheless, it should be an interesting year.

I think Jets will be harder to play against than last year's edition. Except when KFC and Scheifele are on the ice together. :ha:
