IMO, McCabe needs a letter. He's the unsung hero of this team and the leader of the defense now IMO, he's really grown into that Muzzin role.
If the Leafs have AM34 healthy + begin carrying the majority of play again.....the sky is the limit.A typical Sheldon Keefe chokejob of a game...oh wait, he's coaching the other team.
I thought Auston specifically shined and was brilliant. Great to see.
Since his return:
GP: 7
G: 6
A: 5
PTS: 11
Welcome back Captain!
Not sure you have the best example when 3 of our 4 goals came from PP, 3v3 OT, and abandoning Berube hockey to push offensively for the equalizer in the final minutes. It doesn't look like Berube's system is holding the boys back from being allowed to score goals.
I think the entire team respects him as a leader, only so many letters to go around. The guys definitely know what he's worth and respect him.IMO, McCabe needs a letter. He's the unsung hero of this team and the leader of the defense now IMO, he's really grown into that Muzzin role.
Only one or two guys could make that pass? I made exactly the same one in my beer league on Tuesday. I've seen goalies make that pass. Willy (or anyone) gets that wide open and it's just a matter of seeing it and not messing up the pass.Totally. Only one guy, or two, in the league could find that open man on the blue line. His outstanding pass in that powerplay also set up the goal by Matty (should’ve gotten the assist over Willy), and that drop pass in the 3rd along the boards? Wow - playmaking savant!
I know, right?! One win won’t win me over!!
Just got back from a game and had a chance to read more of the Devils' GDT."4th line is trash."
Where have I heard that before?
"and for some reason the devils say, 'ok we can get a line change in here'" lol
It was pretty obvious last night.I'd like to see Knies get back to being more direct with the puck, use his size to get to the net.
Seems recently that he's missing on opportunities looking for Matthews.
2nd. goal, Timmins with the puck under pressure behind the net loses it, then goes out and gives the perfect screen for the goal. You may be right that it is Myers.. I thought I saw 8 on the replay.
I feel the D were asked to get up ice more, the early plan was to pass up to the high walled winger and a touch on for the center, wide winger and off d to jump into. We had several failed bypasses in the first so there may have been an adjustment, d men to hold an extra second before jumping in.
There is a reason the 4th line got 5 minutes and that early goal on the Lorentz error was a large factor.
