Always nice beating the Jets even more handing them their first loss. Berube's questionable combos actually working at least that 2nd line, but he shouldn't get into a habit of that.

Not a banner night from Stolarz but he didn't bend or break when we needed him most.

That 2nd line might be the ticket? Need to give it some games. I thought the 3rd line was ok'ish, too.

PP needs to do something soon. PK wasn't good either, but the PP concerns me more.

Officiating was atrocious and the Jets PP has been lethal thus far, but the fact that we gave up 4 goals and none of them were 5-on-5 is not a great endorsement of where our special teams are at. The 3rd also wasn't a great example of shutdown hockey either: A lot of time spent in our zone, even if we did keep them to the outside.

On a more positive note, the 1st period was fantastic, JT and Patches had their best game of the year, and obviously we bent and didn't break. Got the two points, got to break Winnipeg's win streak in their home rink, and Leafs fans made themselves heard and got to litter said rink with hats after JT's hat trick. All in all, a good if imperfect night.

Benoit needs to sit. The 2nd PP goal against he failed to block it despite the low shot and took a bad penalty late in the game. I think Timmins was solid in his minutes. He didn't make any mistakes and was moving the puck well.

I'd like to see Liljegren in for Benoit, and let OEL and McCabe pair up in key situations if needed.

True, but the Leafs cannot put themselves into positions such as they did. Holmberg and Nylander, two calls that were iffy, but neither player was responsible in their acts.
The OEL one was ludicrous. Absolutely no need to call that.

The Leafs will never look good when they have to play half of the remaining time left a man down, whilst they have a big lead.

Conversely, they'll never look good when they are trailing but don't get any calls either.

The rest of the league gets the calls to help them back into games. We see it every night. Why can't we? We're 1 of 32 teams. We're no different.

5v5 zero complaints.

But man we need to figure out a 3C or a 2C.

And tanev has been atrocious. Dude is just an empty body recently on the kill if he isnt blocking the shot its a goal. Smh.
