Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 5-4 Game 1 of Round 2

Based on Willy’s presser and now Mo’s the marching orders regarding the hit on Stolarz is “we didn’t see it.” Same with the Zub hit on John.

I guess it’s a safer approach but I’d really like them to blast the refs and league. It wouldn’t help though and we’d be at an even worse advantage with them.

the leafs played with speed and purpose tonight, it was incredible to witness

Woll usually struggles in relief so I won't shit on him too much, hopefully he's good to go for game 2 because Stolarz seems like he's done for some time

No, this league is a joke
We want justice we're going to have to get it for ourselves

Who do we tap to get it done?

Pacioretty? Laughton? Domi? Realistically those three are the ones who would.

Maybe Benoit, but I rather he not. He’s playing so good

People need to calm down, we were the better team and deserved that victory

Woll was always going to do it tough in this game, he hasn't played for 2 weeks and Stolarz didn't look like he was going to give him an opportunity to play
Of course he's rusty

He will be better for having played this game and he knows he's going in the next game, he's a talented kid who's actually done pretty well in similar situations
Give him a chance

Honestly if Bennett doesn’t get at least a couple of games for deliberately targeting our starting goaltenders head I'd put somebody in with the instructions that if a game gets out of hand they have the green light to attack one of Florida's best players and try to put them out of the series

You can't let that **** stand

exactly people need to stop panicking...
luostarinen goal, it a very hard save to do

3th goal: more a defensive disorganisation than a bad goal... Just way too much time to take a shot from circle and it was a great shot...

The only one i'm more concerned was th 4th goal where he didn't look in good position even with deflection...

Same. the thing is, when Woll was dealing for stretches of the season, he was REALLY good. Like Top 3-5 in the NHL good.

The guy had no reps in 3 weeks, so he's of course going to be rusty entering mid-game against the Stanley Cup champions. One reason why I'm fairly optimistic is that he shows a solid mental game and doesn't get rattled (like some previous goalies the Leafs had in Campbell, Samsonov, etc.). He was excellent in the playoffs last year as well.
Let's hope because he's shown no progression this year. Had a pretty mediocre regular season and couldn't keep the starting job when it was handed to him on a platter competing against Florida's back up goalie from last year.

I like Woll but he's slowly about to start approaching the figure it out or get out territory at this point.

We persevered and took game 1. Knies Paccioretty Nylander great games. 4th line very good. Defence was solid.

But

The power play has to score. Matthews has to score, especially on an open net. McMann is basically useless. Woll has to get back to playing like last playoffs. Gotta give him a break coming in cold.

Just stop. You have no idea what is or isn't injured. It could be his neck, ffs.

What are you talking about? Any vomiting after a head injury you have to go get checked out.

This is coming from a guy who actually had a concussion and was vomitting non stop afterwards. Worst 5 months of my life. Got vertigo with it
