Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 5-4 Game 1 of Round 2

Woll has a good early playoff track record.. coming in mid game after not playing in 2.5 weeks is tough.

He was shaky but I think he can easily be bette prepped next game.

It’s why I wanted to see him in the Ottawa series in game 5 honestly. But they got the win. Now they have woken up Florida and it will be a real battle the rest of the way.

Nice to see the chances are there though. Matthews needs to convert to put the game away.

Rough 3rd, but Knies is just built different.

Don’t know why people are shitting their pants about Woll in net, he’s been lights out in two playoff series where he’s taken over the net. Injuries were always going to happen, that’s just another thing you’ve got to overcome on your way.

This is going to be a hard, hard series, and this is a better start than 0-1. Go Leafs Go

The boys dominated for two periods.

Nylander silky smooth as per usual. Huge goal by Knies to give us the cushion. What a beauty.

Matthews missing so many chances and the empty net was not ideal at all.

He played a good defensive game though.

Decisive and dominant win when you consider that most of the Florida goals this game were an ill-gotten result of Bennett being a total rat. If the league doesn’t remove him from this series, then someone on the Leafs should.

I'd cut some slack to Woll. Hasn't played in awhile and comes in cold into a pressure cooker where the Leafs lost some momentum for a bit. He'll be fine.

And of course no one on the panel is talking about what happened to Stolarz. Just absolute lunacy.

Taking over the net with a 3 goal lead is an awful, awful place to be for a goalie.

Shaky but forgivable.

Marner's little chip play to Knies was key though. Kind of the way he found a way in the 4 Nations to feed Bennett for a goal. Not enough, but just enough for tonight.

I thought we played a great game. The Stolarz play is a suspension and the it changed everything. Woll was very shakey and almost cost us the game.

We showed great resilience and Knies goal was beyond huge. We kept playing and didn't turtle.

1-0 for the good guys!!!!

Can’t blame Woll for any goals, comes in cold after 18 days off. Made a few big ones though. Stolarz probably going to miss time if that’s what it looks like.

Clutch game from Knies. Matthews missed open net was weird. Willy got them the lead they needed .

Aside from the goalie drama it as a well played game, and we hit them hard.

Showed great restraint not hacking Bennet and Rodriguez head off.
