Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 4-3 against Rangers

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Agreed, but 5on5 does represent the bulk of the game, and specifically when 'fixed lines' are used. If you are looking to set 'lines', are PP and PK results relevant?

I agree that projected is really overrated (trends not as much), and I rarely use them.

I'd like to use 6 years but that eliminates or distorts the stats for Knies, McMann, and Robertson. But absolutely Matthews and Nylander are the scorers.

I suppose if anything my lists show that Knies and McMann in particular are producing quite well.

I think we know who the shooters are, and we're in agreement there.

Knies and McMann are in the shooter category, although they bring some other attributes that complement their linemates.

Matthews and Nylander can score on their own, but both playing with someone like Knies or McMann really helps.

To me the only hole in the top 9 is the 3rd. line center.

Patches is a wild card in that if he could hold his body together for the playoffs run, he's a guy with 330 goals in this league who can def put the puck in the net. Maybe be our Perry this year.

The people that are in charge of identifying a need and acquiring it are at fault for sure

identifying and acquiring a need doesn't what you're identify was available...

Nelson who outside maybe 2 game didn't look pretty good in Colorado but would cost a 1st and cowan for only 1 run and would make any Carlo trade basically impossible. Carlo are a better team right now with Carlo and laughton for at least 2 year than what they would be with Nelson alone for 1 run.

a 1st for gourde who was coming iff an injury and had similar stats than Laughton for 1 year unstead of 2

That trade doesn't look sexy right now but laughton just had to score 1-2 goal at a key time and people will proclaim Treliving as genious

A lot of this is subjective but Rantanen remains the most fascinating player on it. Is he the next Huberdeau? Is he just in a production slump? Does he just have to adapt to a new team?

Everyone's favorite boogeyman, advanced stats, are the thing that gives real hope on him but the fact remains that when looking at Rantanen in just his play away from Mac including all the games since the first trade and is he even a 4 million dollar player? It's not like he's good defensively.

Beginning to feel bad for him just like Huberdeau but I think he has a better chance of bouncing back.
