Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 4-2

Jokes aside I think the result tonight is based on some puck luck; bad goal tending by the Wings and solid goaltending by us (thank you Murray)

IDK if I agree that Rielly is a detriment, but I appreciate you bringing in new conversation topics left unexplored.

It will be nice to have both of our top goalies back, they've played well, and load management for both should help them continue to have success.

A four game road trip winning streak, I didn't see that coming. Kudos to our Dcorp who have stepped up. I can't say I was brimming with confidence at the idea of Mete and Hollowell holding the fort, but they've been better than expected, at least for me.

Marner is on one of his ridiculous streaks. The Detroit broadcast crew, especially their color commentator, were singing praise all night long. I don't know who they're up against the next two games, but I think he takes the record.

Tavares continues to play good sound hockey. Wish that crossbar had 'bar downed'.

Matty, are you back? I think that turnover in the first, leading to the Wings going up 1-0 lit a fire. Good to see.

I didn't notice Holmberg that much tonight, was his TOI reduced or did I just miss out?

I'm guessing Gio is still in the ice bath, he took a hard hit in the 2nd. He's playing so well, give him tomorrow off.

That is great you have faith in the guy. Personally I have seen this guy play on this team for long enough to know what he brings and its the same old every year. I am not as ecstatic as you may be.

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion.
Kerfoot and Engvall do have a few supporters, but they are what they are, lower middle level players, based on point production alone, Rielly would be very hard to replace as a defenseman and his cap hit for his point production is very reasonable. Add to that he's a home grown player and you will find a large portion of the fanbase is going to support him, but when you post saying the team right now is better off without him, that makes no sense. If you were to offer a suitable substitute for him and say we would be better, that would be a credible argument

I wouldn't say I have faith in the guy, if I'm being brutally honest I'm not a fan of his cap hit on the team and I haven't been since the day he signed that new contract.

His play in October was rock bottom for him, he'll never be a defensive stalwart but he definitely won't be that bad. His strengths will always be his transition ability and offense, I've come to never expect elite defense from him.
 
Not a great defensive performance today but won't be every game. Need your offense to come through in games like this and they did. Murray was solid again

Yeah and for the ridiculous Reilly trash talk, take a wander to the Oilers forum where they have to pay Nurse 9.25/year for the next million years and they are trashing him badly. Only in Leafs forum would everyone trash our top d while he's injured because we're winning.
