This is the happiest I've been with the bottom 6 in a while. Hope they keep it the same. I'm not sure who they bump for Pacioretty but Patches/Lorentz--Laughton--Jarnkrok has the potential to be a good identity line. Not a thing to dislike about this game and loved Berube’s lineup changes.
Knies-Matthew-Marner
Domi-Tavares-Nylander
McMann-Holmberg-Robertson
Lorentz-Laughton-Jarnkrok/Pacioretty
Was pulling for Laughton to score that shorty. If there was a guy desperate to get one, it’s been him.
So much to like about tonight. Hopefully we can rest some guys and get healthy.
Cheers

Points wise they’re where they’ve been, although with much better goaltending and D. Now we wait and see what the core is really made of. Can they win a round? Recent history tells us it wouldn’t be an upset if they lost to Ottawa. Most complete team we've iced since drafting Matthews. Thank god for Treliving.
I doubt Ottawa wins more than one game in the series.Points wise they’re where they’ve been, although with much better goaltending and D. Now we wait and see what the core is really made of. Can they win a round? Recent history tells us it wouldn’t be an upset if they lost to Ottawa.
Ottawa has been a joke for a decade and because of that history it wouldn’t be shocking if they were the team that couldn’t beat the Leafs’ core.I doubt Ottawa wins more than one game in the series.

Kind of feels like instead of running a 3a and 4a, we're running two 3b type lines and spreading the love based on matchups and situations. This is the happiest I've been with the bottom 6 in a while. I thought I was jinxing the Leafs when i kept saying they would win the division? It's hard to keep up with how influential I am. Anyway, see you in the conference final. In the ol days the greater the perceived difference between the Leafs and Sens, the greater the Leafs dominated.
You are tempting fate with this comment. LOL.
How did that prediction go last year? They do look much better but they most likely have to play Florida in round 2 and that is a terrible matchup for them. Until this core proves it is willing to play outside it's comfort zone, you may want to dial back those guaranteed predictions.I thought I was jinxing the Leafs when i kept saying they would win the division? yeah, anything Kyper says I take with a ton of salt, but lack of possession of the puck will kill us eventually. Honestly, we have been lucky and have good goaltending. We have an offence that will score, but we give too many chances to the other team with this north-south terrible system of Berube. It's like putting a thoroughbred to pull a milk wagon.I normally don't agree with Kyper a lot, but I do share his concern that allowing the opposing team to constantly have the puck could lead to a disaster.
I know the Leafs do a pretty good job keeping the puck to the outside and are willing to block a tonne of shots, but they rely big time getting great goaltending.
Staying injury free will help a lot, and the horses they have on the back end are tough seasoned vets so that is a big difference.
If the PP can show up for once, this has a chance to be something special.
I completely agree with you on Carolina, but I think that is the team the Leafs will be playing in the conference final, and I think it will play out as you have described. It's very much in line with my comment from the start of the season when I said that the Leafs would get to the Cup final this season in part because of how poor the Eastern conference has become.I have never thought the Canes were a great team, they have a great defence and a pop-gun offence. They always seem to do better than us in power rankings, but I think we would demolish them and their inconsistent goaltending (we have seen the Freddie story before)
Leafs and Ottawa is basically set.
If they lose things will be blown up
If they win from the looks of it they will play the winner of the state of Florida series
On the contrary - it's actually nice to be going into the playoffs with a heated up team! And don’t forget they were shutout in regulation last night by a mediocre Montreal team.
Totally skidding right into the division title. The bleakest skid mark imaginable.

The same Kyper that wanted Knies traded lol... He lost all credibility in my eyes when he made that assertion.
