A simple question that Leafs fans have been asking for what seems like decades, hopefully the answer theyve been wanting to hear, has finally fallen into their laps. Any way here goes.

Do the Toronto Maple Leafs now have two actual, honest to dog NHL goaltenders! Is this a real thing, are these guys for real? Have the Leafs actually filled that big hole in their aspirations for playoff success. Sure they have flaws, but solid goaltending has a way of getting past those things. They do however need to find their powerplay the sooner the better.

Leafs need to lock up Knies on an 8-year deal asap.

$5.5mill x 8 years

I was just thinking 8 x 6.5 tbh. They better not go bridge. With the cap going up, Marner/Tavares deals up and most if not all the G and D locked up for at least next year the Leafs have a lot of money decisions to make up front this offseason. Feels like even with a Marner extension they should have room for a Knies 8 year deal and not have to bridge.

I think we have two capable goalie. At this point, I don’t feel a sense of “oh crap” when one or the other gets the start. Last year it’s was all over the place with Sammy, injuries, and OTP inconsistency.

When was the last time the leafs had 2 good goalies let alone 1, we might be talking decades haha

Odd takes.

Nylander plays 40 seconds of 4on4, then someone wonders why he didn't start the PP. The response is that he only has one goal on the PP, ignoring the fact that one leads the team in PP goals.

A couple of posters are saying it looks better without him, while most are saying it looks worse.

The late PP with Willy, OEL, JT, and Domi was really moving it around much better. Adding Matty to those four might be the best idea.

Nice play by Matty pushing it ahead from the faceoff, then two sharp passes for the goal. (Thought we were supposed to give up the last minute goal, not score it.)

Great pass by Mo - you can score from there if you have a shot.

Wow, the backhand pass to Patches and then JT the fight and feed to Willy.

Good work by Domi at the end and nice bankshot by Matty.

Too bad Woll lost the SO - he was solid.

It's a shame that Woll lost the shutout because he deserved to get the shutout.

But aside from that, that was among the most the most complete games you will see them play.

That was fantastic.

Now give me that same effort against Stlouis and Minnesota.

Good win, Line 2 worked like a page out of old school hockey textbook. Perhaps some chemistry...

Woll looked sharp and focused, my second time screening the game I watched him a fair bit, seems like a true pro, so poised and steady.

I've been a Leaf fan for many years, even saw the '67 win on black and white TV. I honestly think the GDT is becoming with all the unnecessary Marner bashing going on, just terrible. What is the point of all that?

Don't laugh, Dubas probably working on a "team friendly" Malkin extension to make Crosby happy...that'll get the Pens going...:sarcasm:

Dubas can do it. He can make what is old young again. He can make what can't score score again. He can reinvent the wheel and make it roll more round dammit.

It's Kyle Dubas, anything is possible. Ask him yourself.

Good to see Woll play well, hopefully he can get a string of 10 games like this together. He clearly has the ability, health will always be a question.

Rielly played his best game of the season. Good to see that, because it was rough there for a while. OEL was covering for him.

Nylander is now hungry for minutes and earning them. Maybe next time, don't half-ass your training camp and take 6-7 games to get going there Willy. I thought Tavares was suspect again, but its clear he's helping Willy.

Matthews and Knies were standouts all game long. That will be a great duo to watch as Knies gets better and better. Yes, he's getting paid on his next deal, but w/e, you have to pay this young guy.

They won without the great Timothy Liljgren. Some posters seem to think the leafs were doomed without him.

dude I saw today that I haven't seen in forever....

Marner effing working the boards like an animal.

Something is CHANGING for the BETTER!!!

:crossfing

Marner fought on the boards for 30 seconds
He knocked the puck over to knies who redirected it to matthews for the goal
The refs wouldn’t give marner or knies an assist but you can bet a million dollars if that was mcdavid or drai they would be giving out assists like Halloween candy

This site will never change
Absolutely no respect for marner who had a great game
And does it both on offense and defense
Rave about knies who scored but marner gave him an empty net gimme.
Sad really when you think about it
