Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 4:0 , Division Champions

Can someone explain to me why McMann was taken off the 2nd line with JT and Nylabder?

To give the third line a boost.. That was an in-game adjustment IIRC from Carolina and it looked really good. McMann got that third line going and Domi looked great with Willy and JT.

Just fool around on Thursday and avoid injuries, chicken wings will be running around like crazy, especially borderline dirty players like larkin and raymond.

No, he said the players (yes including himself) are treated kinda like gods.
Yeah I couldn't be bothered to look up the exact quote but I think you have it about right. And yes, that includes him so it amounts to pretty much the same thing and IMHO, not only is he happy here, he's probably happier here than he'd be anywhere else.

If he thinks the players are treated like gods now, win a couple of rounds and see what happens then!

Not for nothin', but in all the deserved euphoria -

We mighta missed our boy Lorentz and the 4th line with Laughton and Yarney - all looked really competitive all night long. Helped turn the game for us until our bigz got going. More of that please!

Playoffs decide everything, I don't care if the team had 130 points and the core all broke 100 point seasons.

They certainly look mentally prepared after a long season. Their defensive focus and willingness to block shots over the last couple of weeks is coming at the right time. Get it done when the chips are down.
What a difference a few weeks makes eh? Seems like only yesterday I was thinking WTF guys, you've had 6 months to adjust to the new system, what's going on and now, they're playing their playing their best hockey of the season and look like they're ready for the playoffs. Now if only they can find some magic potion to fix the PK.

And yeah, playoffs are everything. It's OK to celebrate winning the division, they finished it off in style but the real games haven't even started yet. The team's looking good, and yes Marner's looking good but there's no reason for anyone to be chirping about anything, not yet.

they were playing for home ice so they probably weren't looking to lose
No they weren't they lost any chance of that when they lost to the Rangers yesterday. That's why they played their backup goalie and sat a bunch of regulars

I will just let this sit right here, quite impressive.

If there was a time to win a Cup it is now as Matthews and Marner have been batman and robin their entire careers so a Cup would ensure the band stays together. In fact, it would probably in all likelihood ensure that all of them retire Leafs, doing one better than the Penquins core. A loss forces the franchise to put together the right mix to get it done.

Time to put it all on the line and not play to lose, make life difficult for the opponent and sacrifice when every game means so much.

Another shutout for Stolarz, whose playing like an elite goalie going in the playoffs.

I think we’ve found something with that third and fourth line.

Congrats to the team for finishing first and to Marner and Matthews.

Oh, and f*** off Florida for trying to tank lol. We took care of our own business.
