Good win. If only we didnt lay that egg against the Sens, it would be an 8 game win streak. but 7/8 is not bad, especially with all the injuries and Matthews obviously.

I almost dread the day he comes back and the team is gonna go into malaise mode expecting him to carry them again.

It's cool to see Berube talk about the Nylander bros and being happy for them. He's what Babcock should've been, a hardass when needed but not a f***ed up sociopath who lacks basic human decency.

Babs would've Frankie Corrado'd Alex for sure.

say what you want he got Shanny/MLSE to fork out probably the largest NHL coach contract till date; got FIRED and got paid to go on vacation LMAO

If Berube doesn't use the opportunity to separate him and Marner and let them drive their own lines, somebody needs to pick a fight with him.

Another good win.

Only thing I will say is that, would be nice if others beside the usuals can chip in a goal or two esp Dmen.

I don't remember exactly the date but there was an article written where Berube was asking forwards to work the puck to the points if there isn't a clear high quality chance for point shots

Kadri was pretty good at it and made a living and a solid contract feeding pucks to Makar

I think we have OEL who can really wire the puck, and may be Timmins. Rielly needs Christopher Nolan type inception to just shoot the effing PUCK ffs

Willy sending out vibes....

I took this picture at a restaurant in Quebec City two summers ago (couldn't help myself). No idea if I posted it here but the comment I made when I texted my buddy was "Damn, Willy really let's himself go in the summer."

100% agree with that.

Our D didn’t need a huge shot but they need to shoot on net more. You can score without shooting

Who was the goalie the Coyotes took from us on waivers when Dumbas would lose everything including his glasses on waivers?

Was it this guy?

Nice win. Unbelievable it’s the only game on in then NHL today.

Way to let the NFL eat your lunch and kick sand in your face Bettman…
Lmao no that was Sateri but thanks for the hilarious memory. Dubas getting so desperate for goaltending trying to sneak a KHL goalie through only to get cucked on waivers is peak Dubas era Leafs

Recall the endless nonsense about how Matthews carried Marner.
Leafs just have some really high end players who have never done it in the playoffs and I'll eat crow and admit I thought probably Marner or Tavares needed to go after the last playoffs.

At this point... once again... amazing regular season. It's still going back to ... what happens this April/May/ June.

Really happy to have the 4 ... but let's not pretend coaching... defence... and goaltending also aren't better. At least in my mind.

So I'm hopeful.... but ... we all know where it really needs to happen... but I'm also loving right now.

To finally reply to your comment... lol...

Marner and Matthews can both carry a line.

Hell... so can Nylander

Robertson worked his .ss off, just bad luck with hitting the posts. Keefe’s team would have lost in OT, cause his team always allowed to be outworked by hard working teams in a humiliating manner. Leafs would pot 3-4 goals and then let the opponent come back, like clockwork. I don’t remember seeing that this season, maybe this team will show their real face in February slump as usual lol.

I hate to think of it too but I feel that will come up.

Good teams can get complacent. Leafs haven't been able to for a while. I think it's been good for them. Sure seems that way.

Which is why we shouldn't make 1 game conclusions. Just going game by game. Minten was fine in this one but I thought Greb seemed lost and was probably our worst forward today.

Other than taking a run at that dude at the end of the period, he was essentially invisible.

Where the hell did Buffalo come from to be 3rd, or everyone else just stinks worse than usual?

I mean the Atlantic does suck for the most part this year.

But we are going to see if theu are real over the next 2 months because their schedule gets A LOT harder.

Their next 6 games alone are

Minnesota
Vancouver
NYI
Colorado
Winnipeg
Utah.

Utah aside that's not easy and it just gets harder.

Take a look at their schedule from now to about mid January It's absolutely brutal.
