Got down early, never opened it up. Kept playing within their structure and the skill took over in the 3rd. Lovely.

Again I state - the first 40 minutes the fully-grown rocket behind the bench was the best part - and no, not the one who was like 15, her mom. Nice mommy energy there, much better than the usual Wayne Enterprises C-Suite cat we usually see behind the bench.
I get a call from my boss as the 2nd Int starts about some work bullshit, it's nothing major but we clear it up. I like the dude but he doesn't know when to end a call, it's a flaw and we all have them.
He did apologize profusely for calling me at 9 on a Weeknight but still. I come back and I've missed Auston Matthews this dicking the Preds...3-3-2-5 since he's back. Dude was absolutely feeling it in that 3rd.
That Knies no-look sauce to Willy was hot, we should have bridged him 3x5.5 instead of playing contract peek-a-boo with him.
I like Holmberg's motor and drive and his competence over 200 feet but he can't be playing with Willy and JT, it just shouldn't go down. I liked Lorentz-Dewar-Holmberg a lot more than Lorentz-Dewar-Reaves. I also liked Willy-JT-Minten more than that line with Holmberg.
I hate to keep saying it but Mitch, this is the year you have to carry us to a series win because I really don't want to lose him, which will happen if he lays an egg. 3 assists and absolutely insane two-way play.
Chris Tanev is a damn hero blocking all those shots.
Chief turned Timmins into a competent 4-5RD with reach and flair...can Phillipe Myers become our big boom boy on the backend there? Lets off damn heaters from the blueline and he also shoots right. Run it.
That Marchy goal was a meme, no way to pin it on Woll, who was again solid and outstanding, ice in his veins.
On the Preds I liked Saros and Josi (no shit, two natural beauties there), Marchessault, Scissons, Evangelista, Jankowski and Wilsby. Stamkos and Forsberg were on milk boxes, Stamkos was solely responsible for killing 15 seconds of the 6 on 5 with his errant pass.
A much better game, against a much better team, than the game the other night against Chicago.
I still think the Perds have dug themselves too deep.

Leafs sat back way too much after going up 3-1. They had over double the shots Nashville did and almost ended the game even 10 mins later.

I hated that we needed to change lines, but it worked like a charm.
Woll was there when we needed him.

Good coaching move to change the lines and Matthews/Marner took over.
Marner is playing some unreal hockey right now.
I really like the way we're playing as a team, everything looks connected and we're not making many mistakes.
We're not taking risks with the puck in dangerous areas of the ice and just pushing the puck forward with pace.
First 40 was some low event hockey.

A pretty low event game for the Leafs again. Woll was very good.
I thought Marner and Matthews were exceptional. I also really liked Robertson and JT. Myers looked much more comfortable. Dewar was a hitting machine.
Holmberg was pretty bad tonight, more than usual. Reaves looked awful too. Greb needs to go to the Marlies.
