We were one of the best teams in the league through those years. We did get a divisional win, and didn't go "out with a whimper" against any of the Cup finalists we faced in the playoffs. You can pretend that anybody that doesn't win the cup is trash if you want, but you're wrong, and we're currently trying to get back to that quality of team. Hopefully we do. We're doing better than last year at least.
The numbers offensively and defensively suggest we're a completely different team.

We absolutely went out with a whimper to the Panthers and the fact we lost at all to the Habs was embarrassing let along the way we lost and we have not won our division with this core. The Canadian division is not our division. I also never said those teams were trash. That is you inferring meaning in what I’m saying. I am simply saying that out of those seemingly revered years by you we were left with a disappointing early playoff exit every single year and 1 single series win. That objectively is not something to look back on and strive for

No, we were one of the best teams. The outcomes in the playoffs weren't what we wanted, and there are always things to work on to extract that one more goal or save that you need in the worst situations, but we performed a lot better than people give them credit for. A lot of people can't look beyond the black and white of round number and series outcome. I don't get that mindset.
Panthers was 5 games, but I wouldn't call a bunch of 1 goal games and OTs going out with a whimper, especially considering that we actually played quite well and lost going up against one of the best goaltending performances of the modern era with our backup. Carolina basically went through the same thing right after us and actually got swept with their starter, and their coach (one of the best NHL players of all time) was still talking about what a close 50/50 battle it was. Hockey people don't think like this board.

Making the playoffs was an accomplishment in the Dubas era. They had no chance of winning anything significant.
Oh, yes, you're talking about their historic regular seasons. Big deal! Nothing like playing a tired Stars team at home on a sleepy Tuesday night when they are probably just wanting to get the game over so that they can head home for a few days.
Slightly different than 3 weeks ago yes. Brad and Craig have done an excellent job. They might actually be able to undo more bad that Kyle and Sheldon installed, than I first believed was possible.
We've always had that stuff, though I think a different voice in the room is good. You can watch how you want, but I'm not sure why you think nobody cares about anything other than playoff series outcomes. For the record, you're in a regular season post-game thread. And the playoff picture is not the picture that many here want to paint.

We have never had 2 great starting goaltender.
It seems sustainable. They don't need to rely on guys getting and staying hot.
