Another win without Matthews.

I’ve been a McMann for along time so this is nice to see. He’s f***ing awesome.

Woll a monster

Nylander was awful as was Marner
At least Coach Keefe had the balls to bench Willy when he gets in these lazy ruts and it always quickly sorted him out. It was like we were a man short in our own end every shift Willy was out there. Not sure where Marner's head was tonight but it wasn't in this game. Thank the hockey Gods for Woll and Bobby tonight.

Nothing said was dramatic. Just commenting on the game. When they play well, they'll get full marks.... But tonight was not it. If you only care about the W or L regardless of how they got there then power to you
yours wasn't bad, perhaps unfairly lumped in, but that's a whole lot of negativity on the first page for a team that just won its fourth straight road game to take back the lead in the division.

and yes, I'm generally happy when we win. I'm also not concerned about the style. If we assume scoring will be as difficult as ever in the playoffs, then we might as well get comfortable winning in low scoring games.

We're 2nd because we play good, structured team defense. We are gritty. We are fairly tough. Keeps the opposition honest. We play a much more North/South game. We're not cheating. Forwards are supporting the D for the first time in about 5 years.

We're playing low-event hockey and it's suiting us very well. We're keeping the game very simple.

Looked like the Leafs out-Islandered the Islanders. But winning in that kind of environment is a skill.

Woll was amazing again. Great rebound control. He masked a game where we could have easily lost because of truly bad carelessness with the puck.

I’m glad Berube made the adjustment of playing Marner the entire PP because Nylander was indifferent all game. I agree with Bourne, he’s not going to hit 50 because he goes into 10-12 games where he’s lazy as hell. Get Rielly off PP1, he doesn’t shoot and thinks he has offensive acumen where he can thread passes.

Not a very impressive performance tbh. Nylander Marner Tavares Rielly all took the night off. Berubue didn't play the 4th line though as Reaves makes it a brutal matchup on the road (not that he makes it much better at home). If not for Woll and McMann its a loss.

Keep saying it but get Minten up and bump Kampf down to the 4th line.

Not every performance is a masterclass

Woll was excellent and I liked the 3rd line, that 1st goal was nice and every forward on that line played his part in it

Defensively we look reasonably strong but scoring is definitely a problem still, the depth guys have heated up but unfortunately the big guys have cooled off

If it's not one thing it's another with this lot 😂

22 mil our worst players.

It's been a source of great concern for the team in the playoffs, but this year so far Willy and Mitch have earned the benefit of the doubt and a pass for a bad game here and there.

One of the best times of the season, the longest possible time until the Leafs have to play that shitty, boring, low-skill, DPE style Islanders team. Nice little dance card upcoming in terms of both entertainment and winnability.

These long winter days around the holidays are just a grind.. get through it and get set for the push in the new year.

A pretty meh December after a good November to get them ahead of the pack. Let's see if they pick it up as they head towards the Four Nations Cup break in February. Ebbs and flows of the season.

i thought marner was good and bad, made some plays but also some really bad decisions. He looked like a star player on an off night

Nylander didn't even show up...seriously why was he even playing he should've just went home and watched

woll was spectacular, mcmann is legit, robertson proving all the haters wrong

1st in atlantic is good, now keep winning

most importantly, GOOD f***ING BYE ISLANDERS, don't have to play that boring ass franchise again this season.

At this point, the only person shooting on PP1 is Marner, and he's the guy you don't want being the only one shooting. Why haven't multiple coaching staffs seen that having Reilly and Marner out there at the same time is redundant? Put someone like OEL in Reilly's spot, someone with an actual point shot.

McMann turned out to be a better player than I thought he would.

I expected his level of production from Robertson. And I expected Robertson's level of production from McMann. Add in the fact McMann is a lot more physical and it's not even close which one is the better player.

I'll take one McMann over ten Robertson's any day.

I didn't realize the Leafs were only nineteenth in the league for power play. The world's most expensive five man unit can't score with the man advantage. I don't know what the solution is but firing Savard and having two equal units would be a good start.

Clearly what they're doing right now isn't working.

I think I'm gonna buy my kid a Woll jersey for his birthday. I already got him a Matthews and Rielly one. There's nobody else on the team I like enough to spend money on even if it's not for myself.

Maybe McMann but I don't want to waste that kind of money on a plug.

Never, never, never put Murray in the Leaf net again...
Let Woll play 6 in a row, then Hildey, then 6 more.
Let him become the man.
His impact reminds me of Dryden. Big, calm, agile, confident great positioning and mates who want to play for him.( with a few exceptions)

Horrible game, Woll won us that one.

We haven't looked good in two months.

you clearly don't watch the games because saying we haven't looked good in 2 months jus simply isn't true, they are 1st in the Atlantic and 6th in the entire league that doesn't happen if you have been horrible for 2 months.

Last night? Yeah you could say that about certain guys, I did, I said I felt like Tavares, Marner and Nylander were awful last night.

But that's ONE night that's not 2 months, if they had been awful for 2 months they wouldn't be 1st in the Atlantic and 3 points out of 1st in the east.

Focussed on the Junior game with Leafs on the tablet, and from what I saw they played well. Woll was great. Still can’t or won’t put any mustard on a pass while on the PP.
