Perception is shaped by narratives, and rarely the truth.

If McKenna is actually 5'11", how tall is Stenberg really?

what I notice the most is how long McKenna's legs are compared to Stenberg

Longer legs will give you more speed and power and make it easier to protect the puck but less explosive

shorter legs can give better acceleration, but not the top end speed, although, can make him harder to knock over (lower center of gravity).

Stenberg will need to expend a lot more energy to get from point A to point B compared to McKenna

McKenna also looks to have much longer arms and that is also a Huge advantage

they may be the same height, but, one has a clear advantage physically.

For those who haven't yet, please check out The McKenna Project on youtube. It's a great little documentary/short film about his year in Penn State. From a little bit about the beginnings to the end of the season, the WJC, the assault charges, and his explosive second half of the season, it is a great watch. After watching it, I am even more so convinced we take him #1 overall.

Gino Reda: "Are you willing to say yet that he (McKenna) is your guy? Are you making that statement yet?"

Chayka: "No I don't think we're ready for that yet, we'll still go through a process and I think it's important what the draft day is for"

Reading between the lines: McKenna is our guy. But we will still go through the due process before confirming it (and won't spoil the draft day excitement by announcing the pick beforehand).

For all we know they pick up another first, so yeah they look at everybody but He speaks too loudly to McKenna as opposed to being fond of Stenberg. It also means the offers aren't there. There is no way Pelley is turning down McKenna jersey sales. SJ doesn't want another forward, they are stacked. They want a Dman and already have their guy. Canucks will have to seriously up any offer. I think the 3rd overall and next years first unprotected is the min.

Anyone who thinks MLSE won’t take the edgy Canadian with native heritage will be sadly mistaken.

Drafting a D might be more useful, but that’s very hard to know.

What we do know …. the “easy” choice and the politically correct choice are the same so … new GM will press the easy button.

Yep, they'll probably take BPA.

Some might draft for need ...

Jersey sales increasing daily
Female viewership possibly as well... ;)

Not that it was a problem with Nylander here, though.

This is correct. It's the most obvious thing ever.

Another NHLer who isn’t tall but has disproportionately long limbs (reach and extension) is Logan Cooley. People were talking about his lack of height but functionally he had a big reach, long stride etc.

I’m not going to compare body types because those stocky Stenberg builds also thrive in hockey. Nothing wrong with either kid.
