Honestly, no point looking at the standings that much anymore. Any one of the power house teams can beat each other.

Just work out all the kinks in the regular season, add at the deadline and then roll the dice again in the playoffs.

@lukefox

Jake Muzzin will not travel with Leafs to Detroit.

I will be pretty surprised if he plays before the All-Star break, it just doesn't make sense to risk rushing him when you can air on the side of caution and give him an additional week. Plus the two games after tomorrow night are b2b.

The B2B is a good reason to put him in, fresh legs

They need him ASAP

In what way do the Leafs need him ASAP?

We are comfortably in a playoff spot. We have 6 quality defensemen right now. We have a fairly easy schedule for the next few weeks. And outside of a few games here or there, our defense has been great for much of this year... And a fair number of our woes defensively stem directly from Muzzin himself.

The only benefit would be chasing home ice, but home ice hasn't exactly helped us much (against CBJ and MTL) and no matter if we are #1 or WC#2, we are going to be facing top 10 teams in the league until we hit the Stanley Cup Finals, which short of Colorado, may genuinely be a weaker matchup than anyone we play getting there in the first place.

Rushing Muzzin for that is downright stupid, and we absolutely do not need him ASAP.

These next 3 are games we should win against a mediocre Detroit team on back to backs and against a New Jersey team with both their starter and back up injured but we've lost to the Coyotes and the Pens AHL team so you can't take anything for granted.

Anything less than 5 of a possible 6 points here would be considered disappointing.

The blown leads in the pass 7 games should tell you we need him back.

Given the quality of competition the next 3 games yes it would be.
Hockey is unlike most sports, where anything can happen on any night. It is over the long haul. Even the Habs won a few games this year. Anyway it wouldn't be a disappointment to me, i need to see a trend over a long haul say 15 games. I even find the tracking of 10 game segments to not mean that much.

I'm watching the DET/PIT game right now, the Wings are all over the Pens. Tomorrow's game will not be easy at all.
We're getting Detroit on the second game of their back to back and they're already playing their 3rd string goalie?

So Saturday we're playing a mediocre, tired, Detroit team playing their 4th string or possibly 3rd string tired goalie??

I'd say this is a must win. Like someone said before the pens and yotes AHL the found a way so who knows.

Tampa, Florida, Boston keep winning, if we're in that ball park we need to prove it
