I think this is a very important game to see how far the Leafs have come. Yes, its been a terrific start to the season, but games like this where you have a desperate opponent that will be coming out hard will show more about you then just about any other game. Lets be honest here, Habs are playing their 3rd in 4 nights and have something to prove before their break this week. Leafs need to impose their will against what should be a desperate and tired opponent and take this game. I think the first 10 mins are gonna be important to not fall behind and I'd like to see the Leafs score first and wear down the Habs early, get them on their heels and force them chase the game.

Should be a good one, Saturday night Leafs/Habs who could ask for more?

Apparently all reports are Montreal has the best defense in the north division. I wonder how true that is. Our defense likely has better numbers than they have.
We are equipped for a chess match or checkers. Whatever way they want to play it :)

Yes we scored more and gave up less than them. We have them in both areas.. We have the highest regulation time win % in the league with TEN regulation wins at this point. Boston has the best points% in the league with FIVE regulation time wins.

This teams numbers with team game defensive first play are trending right. Montreal the Myth ha

Glad we're not facing Allen. Gotta think that if Price loses for the third time in 3 tries against us that we start getting in their heads.

Win tonight and you bury Montreal because a win tonight puts them 7 points up on Montreal who then has 6 days off and Toronto has 3 games against Ottawa in those 6 days.

Now you have to think they are going to win 2 of those 3 games and the only reason I'm saying 2 and not 3 is because I expect Hutchinson to play at least 1 and I don't trust him to win .

but even if you won tonight and took 2 of 3 against Ottawa you be 11 up on Montreal by the time they got back making their 3 games in hand irrelevant

We’re going to be 20 points up on Montreal near the end of the season and the media will still be debating which team is better. The love affair with that team is truly nonsensical... at some point you’ve gotta think people will remember that having top end talent is actually important for success?

Media pumped their tires that much that their lips whistle when they snore .

I keep telling my Habs buddies their team is the donuts...no centres

They have invested a lot on the wings and on D and goalies but not in the middle. You have to have centre strength.

Suzuki’s a gem, but he can’t single handedly carry them down the middle. At this point we still have 4 forwards better than any forward on their team. And for all the talk of their elite D core, it’s no better than ours.

Yes there is 4 garbage teams the they face 50% of this season.
Check the other divisions. Trying to make a narrative that the north is the worst division are ya

4 of the top TEN teams in the league points % are from the North division. There are only 7 teams man. You math doesn’t check out

this just may be my pessimistic self but I feel a loss coming. We've played pretty poorly the last couple of games getting badly outshot and outchanced (especially early) but have been bailed out by good goaltending and timely scoring.

I think the Scabs are gonna come out guns a blazing as well to after getting shutout their last game.

Hopefully I'm wrong....
