He played as well as the defense in front of him, and that is all he needs to do to win most of the time. He didn't make it any harder for them. Good positioning, cut down rebounds, and made the saves he needed to make. We struggled to get that from our goaltending last year.
He can make some big saves too but what has killed him has been being messy in games like this. He was not messy today.

ZAR, NAK, and Gaudette may not have the most skill but they seem to bring energy into every shift.
I don’t know if all 3 make the team but it’s definitely something we didn’t have enough of last season.

Anderson and ZAR had a ton of fun together. That line was really clean as a shutdown line, and they were going up against Ottawa's best.

Two guys (ZAR and Gaudette) are looking for a job so of course they are bringing the thunder. I wish them the best and if they make the team, I hope they keep it up because they've been good.
It feels like we have a lot more options than we did the last few years. Management is going to have some tough decisions to make.

Good first look for Samsonov. Made solid saves. Helps that there were only 16 shots against over 2 periods, but he looked in control and didn’t lose his net at all. No soft goals.
