right on, hopefully he's good to go and is past the injury bug because if you could put him on your 4th line that would be unfair

Damn officially another concussion?! Not sure why he doesn’t just hang up the skates at this point. Guy needs to think about his long term health over the game.

Going to the game in Ottawa tomorrow. Hopefully Papi scores twice and I’m there live for number 60 in front of all the Leafs fans taking over the CTC

It’s not really surprising to see Jake Muzzin out of the lineup again so soon. To me, he looked like he was playing injured last night. He looked slow and flat footed most of the night. I’m not really sure how much of a positive influence he would have in the playoffs, he’s been injured too much recently and when he has been back, at least to me, I don’t think he’s played overly well.

Kallgren will never be mistaken for a starting goaltender anytime soon, given that he’s a rookie and only has 10 or 11 games in the NHL. However, like Petr Mrazek, he too has a save percentage under .900%. We need better goaltending than that in the first round if they are going to compete against elite teams that will light them up like Christmas trees without hesitancy. I like Jack Campbell and I think he’s been pretty decent since he’s been back. However, over the last four months his save percentage has been under .900% for almost the entirety of that duration. I know some of it is on our defense, but you can’t win a playoff series with sub .900% goaltending.

The saving Grace for Toronto in 2022 has been their elite offensive firepower. They’ve scored at least six goals in seven out of the last eight or nine games if I’m not mistaken. They’ve been doing that pretty much on a routine basis since January 1 when Mitch Marner started to go on his tear and Matthews. Outscoring their goaltending deficiencies may work in the regular season, but it’s not a recipe for success in the playoffs. Teams like Florida are in a similar boat that Toronto is in. Top-notch fire power, but subpar goaltending as a whole. I don’t see a lot of people too concerned about this or many people having discussions about it, but I feel it should be.

I think maybe I’ll stop being so pessimistic if Toronto actually proves me wrong and actually advances to round two in the playoffs. They definitely have the skill to, but I think that their poor goaltending will be there Achilles’ heel, I just do.

Anyway, fantastic regular season so far, but the real games begins in a few weeks. I’d like to see home ice advantage, so I hope they don’t take their foot off the gas and annihilate Ottawa tomorrow night.

Go Leafs goooooo!!

The good thing is that unlike past years, a Muzzin injury isn't that big of a deal. The combination of his declining play and our improved depth make it much less of a factor than it was against Columbus/Montreal.

Muzzin going on LTIR and Giordano signing a cheap extension would be a welcome turn of events for the cap situation.

True, a big reason we were successful in the past playoffs was because of good goaltending.

Potvin, Cujo, Belfour

Good mix of everything but when goalies shine so do their teams. Montreal would of never made the finals if Price wasn't in God mode.

Steeves should be called up and given a chance to win a spot on the 4th line. He's fast and gritty. I have no faith in Spezza/Simmonds/Clifford to bring anything of value for an extended period of time on that line.
