I think he is WAYYYYY more hurt than what's being said.

He might feel compelled to help the team win as they can't replace him.

If he is injured, it could impact this teams fate in a shortened season in ways that no trade can address. He needs to be healthy for the playoffs.

That's an excuse man. Hes been shooting and cant finish. His wrist isnt so banged up that it justifies how hes playing right now. The medical staff would not let him play if he was in such a condition. He himself would not want to play if he wasn't able to shoot.

He has missed tap in chances. He isnt using his skating which looked great at the start of the year and his play making is simply non existent like usual.

Matthews has every excuse being made for him right now
