And I actually find it a bit suspicious that 30-ish games into almost every Matthews season he starts to disappear a bit and it's blamed on a "nagging" injury.

I don’t think it was a good shift. He tried doing a lot of things and Nikita Zaitsev shut him down.

Rasmus Andersson clearly ruined his hot streak. That’s not suspicious.

No. He isn't even close to as good defensively, isn't skating nearly as strong. Not playing in traffic and around the net. He is opting to hold the puck to the outside and try to make passes for others to shoot.
