But... those two were criticizing the leagues decision...
yup, but I think the narrative is that the refs do nothing wrong. Im pretty sure the league is hoping this blows over and they can get back to game management.
They think we are going to hate a game with lots of calls. They want us to complain so they can say "see, you want game management"
Its a protest of sorts.

Jokes on them, calling everything is a more level playing field.
Same as calling nothing.

Literally anything is better than game management.

... While people are dumping on Tavares, who obviously hasn't played well at times this year (definitely disappointed) can we talk about Auston Matthews and his 1 goal over his last 17? Periods of hockey. I know his wrist isn't 100% but this team can't be successful when our 11.7 million per player isn't producing. Meanwhile, a segment of this fan base tried to convince the rest of us that Matthews was as good as good as McDavid. While that's obviously not true, the gap has been extreme lately. In that same 17 period stretch I just referenced, McDavid has 4 goals and 8 points.

Time for our guy to step up and lead his squad.

I find it concerning that Matthews hurts his wrist a bit, and as a result $40 million in 4 forwards can't ever score.

Marner, Nylander, and Tavares have a combined 30 points in the last 12 games. All have 10 points each. Rielly has 8 points in the last 12 games himself.

The man with the hurt wrist is the most useless of the bunch right now by far. He had that nice Winnipeg OT goal and one other nice Winnipeg game. That is pretty much his entire highlight package since the Leafs' slide. He's had some bad puck luck, but his shot is not good right now and you can tell with how much he has struggled in the past 9 games.

ye most his career "highlights" are him being able to hold onto the puck in traffic, now he gets tapped and its a giveaway or a panicked pass often to the opposing team.
Yeah, but he is not the only Leaf struggling right now. The offense has completely dried up. Matthews and Marner have been ice cold.

Hopefully things change and the puck starts going in the net for them again. I don’t see Matthews not scoring for too much longer, he is just to good of a goal scorer.

So Tavares is our new scapegoat? 27 points in 32 games and people acting like he has 10 points.

Agreed!

Sure he could be a bit more dominant, but I am hoping he picks it up.

Also posters talking about his age and how it's caught up to him.....he turned 30 like 5 months ago lol

Says the guy crying over being down 1-0 20 minutes into a 60 minute game. Lmao.
yea talking about the game is one thing, telling people the dont deserve a covid shot over how they cheer for a team, a complete joke.... worst post ive read on here in a long while, give your head a shake

When all is said and done
, Kyle Dubas will be referred to as the GM who signed John Tavares.
Yeah how dare he sign a franchise centre who still amongst the top 15 in points and goals since signing here! Especially when the best available defenceman in free agency that summer was Mike Green! The nerve!
