Are Leafs fans really that bad? I think all fan bases have their pctg of bad fans and Leafs happen to have the most fans so maybe sometimes on the main boards it seems like Leafs fans are the worst, but my experiences say theyre pretty decent passionate fans

As an objective and neutral fan I cant actively cheer for any team but I do feel for the Leafs fans and would be nice for them to advance

caps fan pulling for the leafs. Nothing against Fla, just like seeing new teams in the final. cant believe im pulling for the leafs but here we are. theyve become the lovable losers to an extent. At a certain point them losng in 7 to everyone is just tragic. I remember a lot of other teams fans pulling for the caps in 18 once they beat Pitt for likely the same reason. That said if its EDM/TOR, Im good with either wining for obvious reasons.

I always cheer for the underdog. I don’t even hate the Leafs like most do, sure some of their fanbase is super toxic and annoying here, but that’s an outlier. I wanna see that city smile a bit.

1. No Finns.

2. Matthews and Marner are lame chokers compared to their regular season selves. I don't like them. If they all played like Nylander, it'd be a different story, but I am tired of players who get 10 mil and don't bother to show up.

GREAT players, but I can't like them. Seems nonchalant and prima-donna-esque without knowing anything about the locker room. If they can't get it going when the going gets tough, that tarnishes their talent. Matthews is one of the best goal scorers ever. He is dominant on the puck. Where is that in the playoffs?

... If he has a hattie to seal off game 7, I will concede this point.

3. We'd never hear the end of the Leafs being the best ever and how everyone else is just jealous of Hockey's Mecca despite nothing to show for it in decades.

On the other hand, it would be refreshing to see them actually do something. The same story year after year is sad. Despite some annoying fans, I empathize with diehards who allow themselves to hope time after time only to have their souls sucked out and being made to feel foolish for their charitable optimism again and again.
