What other conclusion could there realistically be? They are just ragging on the guy. Most definitely an inside joke. I imagine they are all good friends.

Definitely a few overreactions so far. The core guys have actually been playing pretty well.

Nylander and Tavares have generated a ton of shots, Matthews with a nice goal, Marner with some great set up passes. Oilers are a bit lucky they're only down by 1

Leafs are a pass happy team and not in a good way. The simple play doesn’t seem to exist in their brains.

It's all about the situation. Sometimes the extra pass is good, sometimes it's too much. Situational awareness IS a problem with these players in general.

It's probably the reason Keefe likes Holmberg and Kampf so much.

I like the oilers offensive zone strategy of aggressive wall sealing. It’s lead to many second and third chances and extended zone time. Amazing what a coach that actually has a strategy can do.

I swear we have never made any attempt to cut that off in the 30 years I have watched this team with an idea of what is going on
You could just wrap it around the boards from D to D and no leaf would even try to stop it

That and the pop plays from the corner to the net and the 10 ft passes 5 feet from the blue line drive me nuts

Matthews has been impactful and Mitch has been playing smart. Initiating chip and chases and battling in the corner honestly. Tavares is taking a beating and drew a penalty. Other than that pretty frustrating effort to results ratio. Nylander’s had a few looks, a breakaway etc. but we do need something from our leading scorer.

Brodie has been awful for so long now. No more of these soft small D who don't even generate offence. Next season replace Brodie and Gio with big boulders, guys who can clear the net and forwards fear going into the corner with.
