As much as I am pleasantly surprised that Tavares is having a good stretch, I hope it doesn't increase his chances at receiving a hefty contract renewal. Id much rather spend that money on Knies.

No way we don’t sign Knies because we have to sign JT. As good as JT has been for the last 2 games it doesn’t erase 2 years of a noticeable and steady decline
I think this year is actually different with Woll and Stollarz.
Absolutely. Knies is a MUST sign. Dude is built for hockey.

JT wants to stay, he has no desire to leave the Leafs. There is no reason to sign him now, I wait until the off season and try to squeeze a team friendly deal.
It will be Knies renewal before any of JT and MM
Unless he starts taking lessons againit takes JT a while but be he gets there....eventually

As good as it looks smart teams would take the first opportunity to put him back to L2. Next slump just to keep costs down mostly but we don't really do much of that.
The built in reason is we wanted to see if you can generate on your own or are the benefactor of two of the best players in the league.
Hard to give him 7m and marner 12m+ lol
