GDT: Leafs vs Flames

you going or Catholic Jamesons or Protestant Bushmills?
True story.

Both my parents (and my entire exteded family) are Northern Irish immigrants. Both protestant.

I'm Canadian born. They would take us (me and my sisters) to N. Ireland every three years for 6 weeks.

When I was older (maybe 17 or 18 whatever) my father took me to the Bushmills distillery and we did the tour. The factory was on shutdown at that time we did the tour.

When we got near the end of the tour, we got to the part where they box up the whiskey............

I swear to god, they were boxing up 20 year old Jameson whiskey..............

Both companies were owned by Interbrew at this time. I can't remember the year.

Just saying..............you think you're drinking 20 year old Jameson's, but it's Bushmills...........

Nothing Catholic or Protestant about it..........it's all business baby.!

Always wanted to try this one. Also branch out and give more Irish whiskey a go! Have lots bourbons (for now) rye and scotch.
Irish whiskey isn’t my favourite, but the Writer’s Tears is pretty good. I prefer Canadian rye whiskey so tariff’s don’t factor into the equation like your bourbon does. Only Irish one I really didn’t particularly like is the Proper Twelve, sorry Connor…….

Too funny, I thought that was a real thing about each religion having a distinct whiskey they supported, can’t remember where I learned it from…….

Great but no rewind, pause or ff screws up my ability to breakdown plays and key on individuals.
That greatly enhances my viewing pleasure.
Man, that’s high tech, never owned a pvr, still rolling it old school up here in Hornings Mills……

Win our couple games in hand and we’re back tied for the Atlantic division lead. Despite all the doomsaying around here, we are well positioned.

Slumps happen.

I don't think it's the fact that they've lost five of six that's upsetting people as much as the indications that the team really hasn't changed its ways or grown and seems ripe for the usual result in the spring.

Berube himself seemed pretty pissed about their complacency and lack of compete and effort.

The Leafs are like that bright kid you knew growing up who was skipped ahead and majoring in something and seemed destined for big things. But half a decade later, you find him still living at home and spending all his time smoking weed and hanging out with his loser friends, and you wonder if and when he'll get his act together.

Florida has lost 3 of their last 4 games, and in two of those games they gave up 2 goal third period leads. Tampa has also lost 3 of their last 4 games. Should both of those teams consider rebuilding? Or is it possible that sometimes teams just go through slumps? Does anyone remember that the Leafs won 5 straight games after the Four Nations tournament? I don't remember reading a lot of "future is bleak" threads during that streak.
Those teams are proven playoff performers so it's easy to shrug off a small slump. It's different for us, a lot different!

Well - I'm as disgusted as I've been in years but I do love our goaltenders and this is a great night for Woll to backstop us out of this hell. Maybe go on a run of his own.

That's the thing though, and I like them too, if this ends up being a goalie win, I am not sure we are in a better spot other than having the 2 points in the bank.

The team needs to play a low event, tight checking game where they are able to still score a few, and not because the other goalie shits the bed like last time we played these guys.

Oh I think we are sunk unless we get an above average performance every night, in goal. So I'm still disgusted but I'm trying to bounce back.

If we can score 3... should win tonight. That has been a tough task though.
