Leafs need to win the final 30 minutes even if they lose the game. long term it's important

Sure but i don't think it'll mean much if it's the same lines. They need Simmonds in, they need Ljiljegren and heck even Sandin if he's ready. Play with more speed and skill like Tampa(but cautious, no 2 on 1's allowed, etc)...They also need to go back to Nylander playing with more speedy players and not JT who kills any momentum.

If you want to have faith that this is the year they break through, that this team is different, etc. then everything they've done tonight suggests the exact opposite.

They basically checked every box of teams past: Defensive breakdowns, bad penalties, lack of urgency, shaky goaltending, costly turnovers, forwards not supporting pinching d-men.

Of course they can come back and win this series, but they are going to have to overcome whatever it is they have lacked and whatever paralyzes them in clutch moments for the past 5+ years very, very quickly.

And that 2017 series was actually fun. The team left everything they got against the President Trophy winner.
That series feels like a lifetime ago. That team had heart for days as much as I dislike Babcock

Tonight we saw q team down by a game playing desperate.
They're beatable that's why they were behind coming into this game.
We haven't won a damn thing and just had the most humiliating loss in franchise history a year ago

Where is our desperation? Why the f*** are the back to back cup champs the hungry ones?

Every time I look up, the puck is in our end and we're on the defensive. Campbell wanted to stay in the net so his team could not try, some more?
