Only reason I'm worried is because they have *not* met the eye test in the two games since the mini-break. They've been sloppy and rusty and the Avs seem to be running on all 8. Not dumping on the team but this will be a giant challenge IMO.

Late to getting back to this... and I agree to an extent. They haven't been as solid as before the break. Against Ottawa though they were pretty damn good. We got a 3-1 lead here now. We'll see.

Agreed. Matthews looks better out on the ice when he isn’t with Marner. There’s certain world class superstars like Crosby who usually play better with lesser players who can grind it out, get into the dirty areas, etc and Matthews seems to be one of those world class superstars as well. That’s why a team like Philadelphia would interest me in a Marner trade. Konecny would be ideal to acquire to put on our top line with Matthews. Obviously we’d need a lot more for Marner though.
