Avs is a very good offensive teams with at least two guys who can just skate and attack the zone like McD with Mack and Makar.
Overall, the Leafs are being more than okay, they are pretty good. You can't shut out teams all the time.

An important stat to refer to, especially against an offensive minded teams like the Avs, Leafs are dominating them in the circle, 30 face off wins, 12 losses. This is a big deal.

Leafs this year are just far more complete. They work on winning in all facets (except hits).

We look pretty bad defensively, Avs zone entries are so easy and we can't find the puck, still think they can come back if they score the next one. Campbell is amazing as usual and he is the difference, along with the faceoffs. Man the Avs are terrible at faceoffs.

Teams are supposed to lose big in their first home game after a long western roadtrip. I would take any run and gun game with a 3 goal lead.

really don't mind what I've seen of Anderson... hard to judge just his first game but there's some potential there

His first shift was terrible... 2nd was better, and from his 3rd on he's been good. I did a couple double takes on a couple of the plays he has made. Looks small in stature; I would worry about his playoff effectiveness but I would like to see more for sure.

No kidding eh. This is one of those games you just have to enjoy as a hockey fan. Insane skill on both sides, so much firepower, there are gonna be defensive breakdowns.

Weirdly the people bitching about the "process" in this game despite the score don't have the same approach when the Leafs dominate but lose. The Leafs haven't even really been outplayed

That 2nd period was pretty bad for the Leafs defensively but the first period was pretty much perfection. You aren't going to completely stop a team like the Avs offensively.

Leafs pushed back and regained their 3 goal lead.

Overall a good game considering its first game back from a long road trip.
