It would be a first (me thinks) but given how much better Matty and Willie have been since last year and Mitch starting to get hot, if they fail to beat Boston or Florida in round #1, it pretty much cements the fact that we can't win with these guys making $11m+ each (starting next year). I mean, how much better do these guys need to get to get out of the Atlantic?

Even if they cost 5mil each, either they can get it done or they can’t and the money isn’t really that relevant until we start getting into cap max funny numbers. The bigger problem is even if they had 15 mil in cap space fall out of the sky, it’s not that easy to fill it with productive players unless you’re giving up major assets to acquire them. The Pietrangelo UFA scenario happens so rarely and they usually already have a destination in mind.

They are missing their two best offensive players (and best by a pretty good margin). Notwithstanding that most people here like to bemoan how they believe the world treats the Leafs, this is some pretty good fortune for them tonight (and next week when these teams meet again).

Last game against Arizon was probably my favourite game of his this season, maybe after the sweden trip lol

He was engaged, scored 2x and was not backing down from anyone. Even started two scrums, more of that from everyone would be very appreciated

Lots of weird scenarios in play, tough to get a feel. My guess it's a low scoring slog where the Leafs don't look like the better team, but have a chance to win all night. Like that home game vs. the Jets, though I don't think they will look that bad.

He's got to treat every defenseman he runs into like they are Sean Durzi.
