Post-Game Talk: Leafs tie Season Series with Senators

Agreed. I'll never fully trust this team until its official. The last two games were blown leads that led to overtime. The ability to lock leads down is non existent.

They allowed a handful of shots COMBINED in the third and OT of both games 2 and 3. Both goals were screened point shots. One was a deflection.

Also, they locked it down in game 1 and dominated. How are you forgetting that?

Interesting fact: Travis Green played on the 2001 Leafs team that swept the Sens in round 1.

Ottawa in the worst possible spot, on the brink of elimination...

Pretty tight checking game, I like how the team defends in the 3rd period, dislike they keep giving up the goal on the only shot the other team gets. Need to find a way to get that 3rd goal in the 3rd period and put em away.

Dont care how it happened, just that it always happens. Decades of leafs ptsd will do that.

honestly. it's what made me a leafs fan. I remember that sweep as if it were yesterday. tied in game one, Mats Sundin winds up, hesitates, hammers it post and in, and i'm in. it's just wild it's been that long [and geeze it makes me feel old]
That is awesome! I became a fan in the early 80's. God only knows why, those teams sucked so bad. They were fun to watch though... especially when Clark got there in 85. Mario Marois, Tom Ferguson, Vinny Damphousse, Russ Courtnall, Alan Bester, Felix the Cat... ha ha what a time!

The runs in 93, 94, 99 and 02 were glorious.

Nik Borschevsky's Game 7 OT winner vs DET in 93 is my all time fav! Man that was exciting.

Loved every one of the Leafs wins vs Ottawa too of course.

I guess Ottawa fans should have sold their tickets to Leafs Nation!!

And coaching the last few years was the issue…allot of us were right!! Def feels like a different team
Let’s see what happens

Oliver Ekman-Larsson daily affirmations:
I am not Jake Gardiner
I am not Jake Gardiner
I will not let an opposing player blow past me on a rush play
Drove me nuts that Gardiner would have have periods of elite play but when he did make mistakes they would be CATASTROPHIC like every time.

What is that now, 8 wins in a row and 10-1 in last 11? This 3-0 is not the same as Habs 3-0
It wasn't 3-0

Toronto was playing well in Game 1, and then Tavares took a knee to the head.
That absolutely ruined the game for Toronto and they lost game 1 by a goal.

Won games 2, 3, 4

Game 5 went to OT and there was an egregious giveaway that led directly to a goal against.

Game 6 went to OT and a basic wrist-shot dump-in went in from the blue line.

Well, watching the clip, maybe it was a better shot than that. Still should have been stopped.

Game 7 was a debacle though.

Anyone complaining about Matthews is crazy.

Textbook 200 ft play - it’s probably the best Dzone Centre play I have seen in a long while. I coach my son’s team (he’s a C), had him studying AM tonight. It was poetry.
Timely goal.
+3
PK was great
Draws
Tough mins

A Leader - and that’s how you win tough hockey games.

Oh man, I just read the funniest thing on the Sens forum, something to the effect of "We drafted the new Gary Roberts, and the Leafs don't have anything like the old Gary Roberts". I hope they're not referring to Tkachuk. LMAO!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Just so funny after 1 game of leading the game in PPs, the dial was turned way the other way. Every time, without fail.

It’s like these refs are so worried what Travis Green will mope about, as if calling penalties is deciding the game… when not making calls… also decides games.

The most annoying was the consultation they had with Brady Tkachuk to reverse the Chabot follow through. Is it follow through when you whiff on the puck? Why does Brady get a voice in it? Can they even challenge a call like that?
