Post-Game Talk: Leafs tie Season Series with Senators

That was different. Ottawa hasn’t shown anything to show that they can win 1 game, let alone 4.

Eh they’ve come within 1 shot of winning twice.

The Leafs can be better and will need to be to put the dagger in.

Matthews scoring and leading the offense for the win is a good start.

it was also over against Montreal when it was 3-1 and everyone in here was already planning out the 2nd round lol

seriously just go be miserable by yourself.

you're entitled to your opinion and i'm not really going to bother debating with you because you want to be all "they aren't very good." so fine. then why are you here harshing on people's vibes that just want to be happy that the team has played well enough to have a 3-0 lead?

you are legit that person if someone finally does well in a subject they've struggled in you'd lift up the assignment and go "but why didn't you get an A?." just. go away. or celebrate the win but stop being miserable and peeing on people's happiness.

I think my fav post OT goal celebration was the 6-D-hug-fest. ha ha what a gang!

Yeeeaaaaahhhh!!!!!!! Watched the game on my phone at the Metallica concert!
Bunch of buddies went. When the tickets came out I looked at the calendar and thought there might be a playoff game on. When I saw the second night was Saturday I told them I was out.

Hope it was a great show!!!

Yup! You nailed it Daisy (good to see you back)

We’ve been screaming for something to be different about this group. It finally is and all people are complaining about is, it’s not exciting hockey. I’m tired of the leafs dominating the shots totals, possession and all, only to lose.

hey friend :)

honestly. as someone who has watched zero minutes of this season it looks like to me that they've bought into whatever Berube is selling. because they don't like like the team I saw last year. which to me it's a good thing.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Leafs have felt very different over the past little while. You feel a sense of calm seeing them disrupt all the way down the ice defensively, and get those defensive stops and they're just opportunistic about scoring but never open up. I would like to see more up tempo pacing and they could afford to turn up the defensive pinch here and there, but watching them the past month gives me a very calm Toronto Raptors 2019 kind of experience.

You know when your team has bought into the coach and the system is when the coach repeats his post game remarks. “I liked our 3rd period, we gave up 2 shots, we hounded the puck, and we smothered defensively” he literally said this exact thing after game 2 lol people who say “they haven’t played well snd need to open up more… no the team is playing exactly how the coaches want them too. They will lose the shot on net battle every game because they don’t open up much! They are ok giving up shots from the outside and defend the crease. The Leafs block a ton of shots!! This is exactly how Berube wants them to play

Honestly after they weathered the storm of the first period and responded to the bullshit 5v3 goal, it felt like they were in the driver's seat rest of the way. Wouldn't have needed OT if Stolarz didn't fall asleep at the wheel briefly.

I agree with what you're saying, but it's understandable.

This Leafs team has earned the mistrust of some fans (including me) and has turned optimistic fans into skeptics and skeptics into cynics.

But this series should be enjoyed and made the most of, and hopefully, more ill feelings get allayed.

It's precisely the same shit that would unravelled the Leafs of the past and made them lose their composure -and thus the game.

Not this year though. Keefe was truly just a shit coach that couldn't get any intangibles out of the team.

Bingo! It’s a shot Stolarz should save and he’d probably admit that. He stops that it’s over in regulation. Leafs gave up 2 shots!!! 2! Like that is elite defensive stuff. Berube was the best thing to happen to this franchise.

I always rooted for Benoit. Love how hard he plays despite few bad plays that are far & in between.
So glad he made the team in the PO's.

And no, it's not cause I live in QC. I am not even French & don't speak the language very well either ;)
Just a DIE HARD LEAF fan holding the Blue & White flag proudly for decades in the outpost.
