Knies looks like he's fitting in nicely.

Can you imagine a 21 20 year old college player holding his own in the NHL playoffs.

Knies' size and strength at his age held up impressive in this game .. He's got NHL strength already and will only get stronger. And some great hands.

Even on those penalties, he's showing some level of being engaged and physical. And this is his first game. He's learning from the best in ROR and Acciari and against a tough opponent.

I'm excited for his ceiling

Agreed but we don’t want these guys off the ice fighting their goons. It’s just at least Simmonds can actually throw down with Perry Vs what Holl did and it makes them think twice

Perry/Maroon would run away from Simmonds like always, and he'd take a roughing or instigator or something. Perry would only drop them with a non-fighter like Holl, and Maroon already got fed by Schenn at the end of the regular season.

Great response game by the team. Rielly Marner and Tavares with great games. O’Rielly and Knies looked really good together. Matthews has more to give and I’m sure he will as the series moves on. The defence protected the house much better. I love how this team will not be pushed around. I like the 3 centre depth of the team.

best part of the game wasn't Leafs scoring 7 goals, Tavares hatty, or bunch of guys getting on the scoreboard

the best part was Fans getting engaged in a spat with Tampa players in the box. That was PASSION

and hilarious

Can anyone summarize what happened

Outstanding recovery. The job is far from finished. Tell Bunting to stay home. Maybe it will sink into his head that being a mental midget hurts the team. I'm not sure it well, cuz well, he's a mental midget.

Knies played well. Stupid last penalty though. If the refs are going to call slapping the stick out of the other guys hands, lets do it fairly. 86 on the Bolts did it quite often tonight and anytime he's in the box it helps us bigtime.

Lets get ready for Saturday. Told myself no drinking while Leafs are in the playoffs. Bourbon stock might fall. But it is 420 today. Time to celebrate. GO LEAFS GO!!!!

He did not look good at all

Only time he was out was to get in the box for Maroon
Exactly, even though he was the only forward left to serve that penalty but his head was down the whole time even when Cole joined him for throwing the puck down the ice.
To me, Cirelli is the most under-rated player for TB. He makes lives easier for Cooper as he can be used against opposing top lines. To me, it looks like a concussion.

Ummm they're good... but no

This is the opposite of the mental approach Cooper usually takes. He just put more pressure on his team instead of saying how great Tavares/Matthews/ROR are and putting the pressure there. Interesting I think he was actually phased knowing he doesn't have Hedman and Cernak back there and a confidence rattled balding Vasilevsky.

Absolutely outstanding from top to bottom. Shoutout to Keefe for a well coached game.

Everyone did their jobs to perfection.

Big shout out to Holl and Tavares who were brilliant.

Schenn was immense as per.

Happy with the refereeing to be honest.

Big congrats all around.

Big game 3 coming up.

I thought O’Reilly and Knies had a little bit of chemistry going. O’Reilly is captain material and he transforms our team. Can’t believe some people thought this was Folingo 2.0… but that’s just HFBoards.

Tavares had a monster game. Nylander was also good. I still think they’re way better apart though.

Rielly had 4 assists. That’s going to be good for his confidence. I’m not the biggest Rielly fan but he steps up around playoff time.

Schenn was also very steady. Another great pick up. Gio with a good fight. The team showed impressive team toughness. The deadline additions have been great.

I actually don't mind it .. Schenn said no initially but Jeannot kept going. It's the kind of thing the Leafs have shied away from, but I like that he stood up for himself and handed it well. Basically didn't let Jeannot push him around. That can send a message to your own team.
This exactly... it was a 100% necessary fight. Statement fight. FU... we won't be pushed around this year!

I hope Perry didn't have plans on retiring to Ontario after his playing days!

I think he's actually moved back to Ontario. Was featured in Architectural Digest a couple of years ago and I think he wanted to be a Leaf, but settled in Montreal for the bubble season. Well, Tampa should be a nice spot, probably won't have a nice time at the grocery store for a while...

That's what they were saying on TV. But he didn't go for concussion protocol
Good kid, plays hard. Happens

Can anyone summarize what happened

1) Jeannot had something thrown at him and then a fan telling him to come out and fight; fan was escorted out of the building
2) Perry, Jeanot, Fat Maroon all in the box and stuff gets thrown at them - huge "Perry Sucks Chants"; ref for Perry's safety gives him 10 min misconduct
3) Sargachev gets booted and fans throw stuff at him; I saw a woman throw her hat at him in disgust

am sure there were other shenanigans that I can't recall right now

I actually kind of wished that McCabe had fought in Game 1 after his big hit on Eysewhatever and was challenged. Reason being Tampa was getting their rush opportunity and a fight would have negated that...

I still have no use for Keefe, Holl, and Kerfoot.

Let's get 2 in Florida. No mercy, and give nothing.

On to the next one.

Eid Mubarak to those celebrating.

Knies might be the best sneaky draft pick in a very long time. Killer pick by Dubas, full credit. Re-draft right now and he goes top-10 overall.
