It seems to me the Leafs have a n excellent success rate with the goalie pulled.

Any stats ?
Last 3 seasons combined (2019/20, 2020/21 and this season 2021/22) we are in a 5 way tie for the league lead for 6v5 goals for with 12

Interestingly Tampa has 4 already this year but had only 6 total the previous 2 seasons.

If you expand to add the 2018/19 season we drop to a tie for 4th with 16 and Detroit leads the way with 21.

I don't know what the conversion rate is, probably hard to figure out but ours would likely be pretty good relatively speaking as we are a good team so have the lead at the end of the game much more often than a team like Detroit.

Wow they are pretty obscure stats, nice. I was trying to find what the success rate is of scoring in the NHL when a team has a full two minute 5 on 3. I tried but couldn't find any info.

With their goalie pulled.

2020 Season, 8 GF, 9 GA
2020 Playoffs, 3 GF, 2 GA
2021 Season, 5 GF, 5 GA
2021 Playoffs, 1 GF, 1 GA
2022 Season, 1 GF, 2 GA

They're above average for sure.

Idea:
Empty net goals only count for a 3 minute penalty.

Teams can pull the goalie at any time.

Opponents can ice the puck 5 on 4, can't do that 6 on 5.
Probably contributes to it.
Definitely, also think for this team especially it creates a sense of urgency they clearly do not show on the powerplay. When you have arguably the best (wrist) shot in the league on your team and some other great shooters in Tavares and Nylander, you'd think they'd be more inclined to put it on net.

So empty net goals don’t count for a goal against? Just a a 3 minute penalty?

Get up 1-0 pull the goalie refuse to put him back in and take the constant penalties. Play the rest of the game down 5 skaters against 4 and win 1-0
