Never heard of him so I will have to see him in the playoffs if we make it next year before I comment other then at least he’s cheap
Avatar approved ;). Same colour as my little last of the fox body’s 94 Mustang Gt.
I know little about him too

You have to love a guy who has played and fought his way up from six years in the AHL.

Mind you, playing in the A, is pretty good for some guys, small cities, cheap rent if that exists any more, and great hockey.

Don Cherry probably loves this signing.

Kinda reminds me of us acquiring Mikhail Grabovski. He worked out pretty good for us.

Looks to be a very good signing at the end of the day. Interested to see what the kid can accomplish - Toronto has its struggles obviously but they still provide unique opportunities for free agents like this kid.

I won't pretend to know anything about this kid other than what I've read on him. But his highlight pack from last year and the goals he scored kind of remind me of Hyman. Even the celebrations are eerily similar lol.

Really love the 2nd year too. A really good deal for him as well, he should get a lot of opportunity to get paid big in 2 years if he can play up the lineup, which I suspect he will. Seemed to play alot with AZ's top guys last year from the highlight pack at least

Nice video, definitely someone to be excited about as he could break out in a big way, especially given our lack of LWers I would think he’ll get more than enough opportunity.

I like his story from Luke Fox. Blue collar roots who didn't have the cash to play on the big teams in Toronto

As a historian, I am always reminded of Napoleons choice for soldiers at a time when military men were generally Aristocrats. If men don't have an easy path in life they made for better soldiers.

A crude example, but the point remains the same about where you can find heart and drive. If the scouting report on this guy is correct, he's a younger Foligno with a net presence.

If Dubas can find more of this guys pedigree, I would welcome it. The fans would too I'm sure. If we can open it up.

Big ask.
Over 300 in the A.
26 yrs old.
26 NHL games.
Love what Biz said.
If true.
We should be drafting 18 yr olds who project like this.
Not yet.
But soon.
Hopefully.

Just to take some expectations, he couldn't crack Arizona line up

I wish well for the kid. Maybe a poor man's connor brown

Safe to say that this guy can play anywhere in the lineup?
First line?
No way.
26.
26 NHL games.
Best find ever.
Or.
There is a reason he has over 300 AHL games to his credit.
I hope he plays as described and makes the Leafs.

The kid has a solid two-way game. 1st line duties is a little unrealistic but I wouldn’t mind seeing him start off on the 2nd line. Seems like he can put the puck in the net so I’d like to see him start the year with Tavares and Marner (think it’s time to split Matthews and Marner and provide two lines that can be a real threat and throw those to together on the ice here and there).

Playing anywhere in the lineup is in reference to the type of player not that he’s a first line player.
That should be obvious no?

Hmm?

So that is from someone who has seen him up close in NHL games.

Probably a little more meaningful than my opinion.

Not everyone is a NHL starter at 22, or ever.

Biz also said Barrie was gonna be a stud for us. Lol

You know this is a good signing when the thread is only 4 pages long.
