Th question becomes, if not last night, then why any game? He really missed a chance to argue his worth in the lineup last night. He won’t be on the playoff roster.

Leafs need to start taking some gambles on later picks turning into power forwards. We’ve drafted a lot of “hopeful” 5’10 skill players who turn into nothing. With power forwards you can at least mold them into grinders and even potentially enforcers if the power forward aspect doesn’t work out. I think you need to draft both skill and power but we have drafted almost zero players with any size during the Dubas era and it shows now. Trading for these types when young is next to impossible and signing them when their old team determines them washed up is brutal.

Being a great guy does nothing to help this team. You send him down and bury him or somehow they Jeff Gillooly him and put him on LTIR.

I’d rather give anybody a shot from the Marlies over this waste of space.

I actually think that being a great guy is what is helping the team. As fans we don't see it. However, the management, coaching staff and players all seem to be very fond of the guy.

We drafted and developed a bunch of bigger guys. You might want to check who brought you Knies and McMann. A lot of big guys just get to that level by exploiting a size advantage, and then when they move up leagues and that advantage shrinks, they can't keep up. And if you're a big guy with NHL skills, you're likely going in the top half of the 1st round, where we've been too good to draft (outside Amirov RIP).
